They already put out an LA All Star CW in 2018 with the City of Flights. I noticed the midsole and outsoles are similar and possibly the same and these seem like somewhat of a follow-up to those (esp since these also have a gold colored wings logo).
Either way, JB has largely given up on putting a lot of effort into storytelling with OG AJ 1 Highs since nobody is buying those GR releases at retail anyways.

Eh there is so much stuff available to cop for retail or less rn, I’m sure you could pretty easily find a consolation prize if you REALLY wanted a dub.

I did cop some consolations. Got the 10s and Infareds. It's one of the big fish I was hoping I could get for retail.
If it makes sense I'd rather catch 1 pass from Brady than 5 from Dak.

Yeah JB has put out a lot of trash lately so trust me I totally get it lol
That said, Jordan Retros in general (esp. 1s) are at an all time low since the resale market is so oversaturated that even classic cws that released in the past year and change like WC4s and BC3s are still going for retail. Plenty of solid cws, even despite all the trash they’ve been putting out.

Just got these in from GOAT. They were DS, B-Grade. I didn't notice this flaw before purchasing which made them that by the position and reflection they were pictured.
So, I bought a chrome paint marker to try and make it look better. I think its less noticeable but not perfect. I was thinking of trying another paint called Mirror, but it's like $60 a bottle. This is the results...

for the longest time i have refused to entertain buying from resellers, but it seems like prices have gone down quite a bit. i have heard comments about receiving fakes from places like stockx (is that still true?) given how reps are so good these days. But is stockx or flightclub places to buy?

Totally depends on what releases you want to buy.
For example some fakes have gotten so good that even places like StockX and GOAT will authenticate some of these pairs. Specifically the heavily faked releases such as 2020 Mocha Highs and 2022 Chicago L&Fs. At this point, I wouldn’t suggest buying those off of resale site since the probability of getting a fake pair that passes authentication is MUCH higher than buying some older, less in demand (in terms of resale) GR release that have tanked in resale price like 2020 Royal Toes or something. I think a lot of the older Travis AJ 1 releases also fall into this category of shoes you want to avoid (esp. given how much they still are at resale).

Flight club and goat are under one company so one in the same. Personally, I don't like buying from stockx/goat/flightclub them unless it's some bumass shoe (my last stockx purchase was pegasus premium, not a shoe I'm going to fuss over in an way shape or form). I prefer ebay because I want to see the actual product I'm spending extra money for.
Like staffsgt said, if you're buying some actual rare or hyped shoe, there's reason to proceed with caution. But if you only wanted to buy some GRs or something, you're fine.
I also think a lot of "I BOUGHT FROM STOCKX AND THEY SENT ME FAKES" was also overblown clickbait or staged content to stir up lowbrow conversation on the internet. Not many real life instances. The actual problem you're going to have is you may receive pairs with factory flaws like creasing, bad paint, or you may be missing accessories. Another reason I prefer buying from ebay with actual photos of the items.

I’m sure they see damn near NONE of the GR OG 1 High releases are selling for $185 retail. Only way to make pairs move at that price is to scale back production and releases to generate more interest in the model. The problem is the secondary market is literally FLOODED with pairs from all of their releases over the past 7 or so years. Making an Que Dog Jordan 1 was already a stretch. They should've just retro'd a lakers pair and called it a day.
