I could see this. My issue with Phats (lows and mids) was always the lack of NA branding along with the poor quality materials used. That said, Nike/JB has used poor quality materials on some OG 1s as well.

They did they breds and royals dirty. On the toe box leather especially .

I don't think any of these phat lows have actual street dates. They just show up. When I got the Black Toes at HoH he didn't even know what I was talking about even though was on the shelf.

Saw the Top 3ish pair today instore. Ugly.

They are. “OG” lows are styled like OGs. Regular AJ1 lows are not. There’s a difference. Regular AJ1 “lows” are basically just the “Phat” version if you remember or are familiar with those.

true . i like the slimmer cut on the og lows. fit, cut, branding but oh well.

I get slightly excited seeing this OG Low thread bumped, then I open it, and see an AJ 1 Low with a nylon tongue...ugh.

Praying to see a new OG 1 Low in an OG 1 colorway with quality leather! No tan, or mauve, or dusty black...just give me a standard primary color!

The orange is that material too as the black. That's going to be difficult to keep clean.

Only "leather" is the midpanel.

as much as I love some of these colors I cant do the phat style lows. hated them then hate them now.. a og tongue tag would change all of that its not the cut or different design as much as the tongue.
