which mid's do you have? Don't know if its true but the earlier models supposedly had a "softer" knit vs the later models. I had a pair of Riverwalks and those fit and played amazing, was hoping I could get the same experience when the lows came out. Unfortunately, the lows knit is a little thicker and overall gave a different experience compared to the mids. 

I have the black ones. same as the one previously posted.  I also went ahead and bought a sleeve to maybe alleviate the pain afterwards. Same result.  Im already considering replacing the insole to a thicker one to see if it makes a difference.

Could be. Don't think the forefoot zoom is unlocked like the XX9 though.

I decided to give these a go and almost died. I dunno how you guys do it but these play so high off the floor compared to the shoes released today and were super unstable. Does the midsole break in? I have both the mid and low after loving my M11 before they got obliterated.

they are definately higher off the ground but I can make an exception for this shoe since its unique. Are the m11s lower to the ground?

For me, I don't think they sit too high, but the way the heel of the midsole is encased with those two TPU plates limits the compression. For me they play a little weird or take getting used to.

For this reason I actually liked the slight change to the heel in the AJ XXX

Definitely a lot lower. There's more room for compression too so it won't change your running pattern (as much). I'll give the 29s some more time to break in, but from what I've seen so far they definitely don't suit the shifty type.

My XX9 YOTG from sobesoles arrived Thursday 3 days after order placed. Ordered monday evening and they shipped next day morning. 100% authentic looks very nice in person, box is pretty nice and both Jordan logos one on tongue and at the back are stitched on, not part of material like big jordan logos on team orange. Will order from sobesoles again for sure.

My favorite XX9! They just look so fresh!

I realize this reply is about 2 years late and it's been around 4 years since this shoe released

I have wanted a pair of YOTG XX9's since I first saw them and now I finally have chance to get a pair. They have been worn twice (VNDS) and I can get them for around $165 shipped. Would you say it's a good deal given how rare this shoe has become? Another question I would like to ask you is how they have held up over time? Did you use them to ball or just for daily wear? Any insight would truly appreciated! Many thanks!

Hm, if you really like the colorway, $165 isn't that bad. They're pretty hard to find, I think, in that colorway. Otherwise, I'd say you can get a VNDS of another colorway for closer to $100 dollars at this point. I love my pairs and I only use them for basketball. I find that the upper tears pretty fast. I've actually added fabric glue to the high wear parts so that they wouldn't otherwise its a great shoe. They were my go-tos for a while now, I mostly go with the XXXI low. They're lower to the ground, more stable and still have great impact protection.

the red model Thanks for the insights man! The YOTG is my favorite colorway of the XX9's (followed closely by the Quai 54's). Anyway, I decided to pull the trigger. I've read the XX9 is a great performer and your answer seems confirms it. I plan on rockin' them in the summer casually. I want to use them for some indoor hoops and regular gym sessions as well. In order to avoid tearing the upper, I'll avoid outdoor balling.

Ever since the 39’s were released, I imagined that they’re the little brother to the 29’s. The original. reply was from this post: https://niketalk.com/threads/air-jordan-39-xxxix-july-23-2024-release-date.697108/

I caved in and got the Sol colorway instead and they look really nice in person. However, I did not expect them to be this girthy looking. Also I’m still not a fan of the cut of the shoe. It truly is a low cut

Before that I also got a pair of 29’s to do a 10 year performance comparison (still looking for a size 9.5 34’s with a translucent outsole to do a 5 year performance comparison) and looking at both shoes, both being size 9.5, there’s a bit of a resemblance to one another.

Was dope when Westbrook broke these out for the Skills Challenge during All Star Weekend. His All Star game white/infrared pair were dope too!
