monday, u do installation work yourself?

Im debating whether to upgrade the sound in the G55.... I spent alot on the system for the bentley at a high end place that some nba players recommended andthey did a great job but i dont feel like payin a ton again...

what kinda system is in the bentley?
what are you goals for the g?
budget?

i forgot the company they used for the stuff in the bentley, its an italian company for the amps and speakers, they ripped all the old stock alpine stuff outof it and put in everything new, face is a jvc chameleon, it has 2 amps set up nice in the trunk and a eclipse 12 sub i think, i dont even remember.

For the G I dont really want a box because i dont want to lose any space. I bought it caus I have a kid coming in 2 months and wanted something with plenty ofspace to drive him around in and also i have a large dog who sits in the trunk area and comes in the car all the time and I lug a ton of crap around all thetime as well, especially once the kid comes....

Budget dont matter really, give me some basic setups of cheap , medium and expensive so i can compare the diffs.... all hiphop music...where in ny are ulocated..thx

if you paid any more than 4-5k you got got, cuz shops that usually do cars athletes/random rich folks etc. cars ALWAYS know they can overcharge because most oftheir customers dont know jack about stereos and prob just know "JL/JBL is the best("I know people who think JBL is the best) and as long as it getsdecently sound and doesn't sound like distortion its fine. oh and btw those systems cost 7-8k+ plus for parts + installation. They do look clean though.But I'd rather have a loud setup than a good looking one, I dont mean wires exposed but I dont need a custom trunk etc.

Lookin' @ a pic of the hatch area..small sealed box 1-1.5 cubic feet in the corner would be ideal. something along the lines of a alpine type x, jl w6, simag v4, image dynamics id q, soundsplinter rl-p, fi q. Since you listen to hip hop, ported would've been ideal, but space is a concern..

Are you tryin' to keep the stock headunit or aftermarket?

Lemonade is right. Unique auto sports charged timbo 15k for a "decent" jl system.

i think i paid about 3k and change if i remember right.... I got it from www.actiontire.com in NJ

If i do a system id def switch the head unit, the stock gps is garbage and id want usb connectivity

would there be a point of doing a system with no sub or would that make no sense?

with hip hop, u def want a sub to fill in the low end. best gps unit on the market right now is the kenwood dnx 9140. that's gonna run about 1600, though.the earlier model(dnx 8120) is also good and runs for about 850-900.

3k isn't too bad depending on the equipment with a Bent tho, nah I would NOT DIY lol, with more expensive cars people seem to favor SQ, I dont see why tho.Theres someone on ca.com who had a loud(5k+ watts) in a newer mercedes C-class trunk, he's talking about going even bigger in a newer RR sport....

when i get my slab back out the shop im bout to redo my whole sound system.

{4} 15" kicker L7z
0 gauge wire
and i need a new radio cuz i sold my other to pay for dude car i hit.
hmmmm pioneer 4100 double din
and imma need a extra battery

projected cost 1300$
minus my trade in value...800$

and MMN, most true "slabs"(old school American luxury cars from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s) have HUGE trunks, and btw just throwing 84s + chromebelts and 5th wheel on anything does NOT make it a slab

oh i forgot i need my dude to build me a custom box = 250 and its in a grand marquis fam. i got 6 12z in it right now but no custom box, just 2 3-way speakerboxes.
and idk i might put a port whole in it. with me its not really about quality, its competition of who the loudest.

edit: naw this aint my car but i do have a gold grand marquis. i was just using this as an example beacuse dude said he wanna see 4 15z in the trunk of a carlike mines.

I know. 15" l7's need 4 cubes so were looking @ 16 cubes BEFORE port and sub displacement. He couldn't fit half of that in a grandmarquis.

_ I know how to get loud. i was hittin' 145's on the termlab with a single 12 before you got your license

I guess a MGM counts as a slab, but people puttin swangas on chrysler chrossfires, Bentley GTs, Altimas, Accords etc.? those aint slabs at all, notice Ididn't say anything about paint cuz it doesn't REALLY matter unless you want to have a top notch one

yeah i def agree with you there. my cousin got murdered last year over his candy red accord on swangers. you may have heard of him {e-man} co owner of thesouth side slabb spot.

IMO thats the same as putting 24s and Kandy paint on a maxima and calling it a donk, I've read extensively into slabs and I like them alot, I'd go thatroute if I could find 84s around here
