Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Seriously, last year was my first year ever in Vegas and the bus was on point for me. Feel like you can see the strip better and it was really inexpensive. Especially if you're just doing the strip, old Vegas and the outlets. I highly recommended it. It ran every 10-15 mins like clockwork.

Well I can walk most of the strip from Ballys it seems, So I guess it will be a game time decision regarding the bus stuff.

Why pay uber from SLS u can get a bus pass for the whole weekend for like $20

lol man nobody got time to be waiting for buses and dealing with missing the bus.

Is there a spot for like Buffet discount coupons? I ask because when I went to NO Harrahs it turns out usually had coupons so most people never pay full buffet price but I didnt know until it was too late. Im going to be going to Rio since it seems like the best value with it being the largest.

It comes by every like 10 minutes

No, I`m just going off of looking up stuff I planed on going to via Google Maps,a nd most of it seems like no more than a mile walk.

It's a WHOLE lot of walking, plus there's (free) shows n stuff. Don't be fooled, and that jet lag is no joke  I also did the grand canyon tour.

Bout to touch down in Vegas for the first time.

So this room upgrade trick is ...

Take a $20 and place it between my ID and CC and ask if they have any upgrades avaible ?

Staying at the Aria for reference :nerd:

I`m actually looking forward to walking to burn off calories from the food I plan on eating lol.

Agreed and honestly, this is why the bus system is so clutch. Remember you have old Vegas too.

What exactly is Old Vegas? My girl is putting together the list of attractions so trying to see if anything of interest would be there. I know the Grand Canyon tour is going to take up a day in itself.

Make sure their boss is standing behind them. I'm 1/2 on it

IDK if "old vegas" is the correct term for it, but it's basically the total opposite of the strip. It's where all the iconic casinos and strip clubs are at that you see in the old gangster/mobster movies. I totally recommend it if you like site seeing, it reminds me a lot of 42nd street back in the 80's in New York. Very gritty and raunchy, but has character and not all 'smoke and mirrors' like the strip. It's not for the prudish or easily offended. There's also thing to do there, and it's really jumping at night, and not a place for kids.

The only way I can describe it is the 42nd street in the old New York. Defintley worth a visit IMO.

I assume it is walkable though right?

We had two rooms at the Vdara, slipped the guy $50 and he moved us to the 2 bdr penthouse.

Doesn't work all the time but worth the risk to me.

Has anyone had a table by the pool at Drai's at night?

We have a big group so I dont care about foot traffic but wondering if the music is still loud out there.

Let us know how it went! I always give it a shot. Whats the worst that can happen. I try every time I go and I've only been turned down once. Most recently, I booked the cheapest room at the Cosmo, and after the sandwich trick, she bumped me up to a terrace 1BR with fountain view. I usually try and swing it so that I'm talking with a younger employee, they seem to be more receptive to this kind of thing. The one time I got turned down was by an older employee who was the only one working (I got there mad late).

I was planning on going this weekend, but plans changed and I had to cancel. We're shooting for July/August for my birthday.

Question, so when you got turned down did she say anything?
