I'm obviously really digging the album, but to be 100% honest - I highly doubt seeing myself playing this on a consistent basis past August/September.

Production >>>>>>>>>> Substance

Par for the course for Jay in the year 2013.

And I'm not mad in the slightest. *shrugs*

Also, GREAT to see Timothy Mosley fully resurrect himself. I'd be lying if I said I saw it coming. Proud of dude.

One thing I learned with Jay-Z is that the more you listen to it, the more you pick up. No word, sentence, or bar is just "there" for no reason. 

Look past the dope production and I am sure you will pick up more substance.

The substance has been lacking for the last few albums. That's the problem. His music has become extremely repetitive. I respect his previous albums but he has nothing else to rap about. Just enjoy your legacy and make money doing other stuff.
 
Serious question... IS this album better than Blueprint 3?

That's not an attempt to knock this record.  More so I'm talking to a friend who just listened to MCHG for the first time, and I guess I had forgotten how many bangers were on BP3.
 
This IS  what BP3  should have been, IMO.

And don't get me wrong, he's still spitting better than 99.9% of human beings on here.

That .1% being Kendrick Lamar.

I find it better than BP3. Like some of y'all stated before it was the production that carried the album, but the lyrics aren't bad either. The first 9-10 songs all knock so I can't complain about it. This is his best work after American Gangster.

Why can't he just continue to enjoy making music he likes? 

And this album he touches on fame, history, religion, being a dad after not having a dad, his relationship, politics... and my favorite song F.U.T.W. where he lets people know you can make it no matter where you come from. That sounds like substance to me.

The rest of album is balanced out with hard and fun tracks.  

This album he did a little of everything, and had balance overall. I am sure if he wanted to go all substance he could have. 

It seems like he tried to give the people a little of everything... but unfortunately still can't make people like you happy. Can't win 'em all.

To me people think they know everything there is to know about people being tied to the illuminati but when you ask them for the proof they give you the type of answer you just gave..

And can anyone tell me what Jay-Z and Kanye's purpose in not putting out any singles or videos for their albums is? **** is dumb...I wanna see atleast one visual from an album.

Blood on the leaves is overhyped. Maybe if they would have cut it short a minute or two it would have been fine, but it just got annoying. Plus that autotune made it worse for me.
