Did the Mavs not expose the Heat last finals?
Just because someone is great at something that doesn't mean they cannot be exposed.

Was lebron not exposed for giving up his last season with the Cavs? How many accolades has Lebron acquired? Way more than Lin. Does that mean they cannot be exposed?

Its crazy how some people cannot accept the fact that a player can and will take criticism. You guys want everyone to slurp dude up? Yeah his story is an amazing one, but so was the homeless guy with the radio voices story. Does that mean these dudes can not and will not be pointed out on their flaws? Obama is the first black president. His story is HISTORICAL. But does that mean that he will not face criticism?

Get over the fact that dude has a compelling story, and look at it for what it is. BASKETBALL. As a BASKETBALL player, the dude was shut down. Was he shut down as a Harvard student? No. Was he shut down as the kid that went undrafted and got a chance? No. He was exposed from his inability to handle the pressure of a top tier team in the league. What the heck is so hard to understand about that?

You guys get so defensive about everyone not loving your new favorite player that you're blinded by the reality of everything.

Dudes are quick to jump for joy hyping dude up when he beats the Lakers, but the moment he loses to the Heat its "give the dude a break"

Right...

Ya'll are hating. They aren't saying he's going to be the top point guard in the league. He's good but it's his background that allowed him to get most of the headlines.
Lin has a Nike contract.

But how are we hating? The media is hyping dude up, and the fans are taking that hype and running with it. Sure the media isn't saying he'll be the best guard in the league, but the same fans who are more attached to his story rather than his actual game are. And don't act like they aren't. Dudes are already comparing him to CP3, Rose and Rondo... Are we really hating? Or are we calling a spade a spade?

Sorry for not falling in love with Lin like the rest of you. The dude can ball, but damn how much more recognition do you want us to give the dude?

And real talk, it doesn't matter if you go #1 in the draft or undrafted. If you're in the NBA lacing up every night, EVERYONE is expected to do well.

You think these organizations pick dudes up expecting them to not do well? Really?

The only thing exposed from last night's game is how stupid Stephen Smith is along with some fellow NTers.
If you call 9-3 record exposed then go home and add stephen's # to your speed dial and share a combined basketball IQ of 5.

He was talking about why the media is hyping him, which is what everyone seems to hate. It has more to do with his background along with the underdog story of him being undrafted, not that he's the greatest point guard to ever grace the league. So for the hype, yes, it matters alot whether he was #1 in the draft or undrafted.

PRIME, lets be real. Everyone is not expected to do well. I know for sure that Laker fans don't expect Luke Walton to do well when he gets on the court. Cmon now.

its moreso a combination of it and his story and his path to where he is now... but alot the casual fans who usually wouldnt watch and are focused on him due to his race...

there was a report commercial for i think the asian american national council talking about the whole its offensive the whole espn ad and talking about what words etc... not to use and no internet slander... and im like outside of this incident i have never heard anything from them. You would think the whole abercombie and fitch racist tshirt and billboard ads would would have them and other ppl asian decent stand up and represent but nope...

Its linsanity so to say a big part of it being his race has alot to do with it, is equally foolish, considering now ill let you make racist comments on billboards and tshirts but if you disrespect a asian bball player or not give him praise etc we wont stand for that... but thats anotheer story for another day.

Just want to point one out thing. I see what you're saying, but I think most people are using the term "exposed" in a "he was exposed to be a SCRUB" type of manner. Other people, when saying Lin was exposed last night, are implying that he was exposed to be a sub-great player (which you obviously don't agree with, since in your previous post, you mentioned that you still think he is a great player). In a sense, while going along with the general usage of the word on NT, the Heat were not exposed per se by the Mavs, since they're balling lights out this year and have more than established that they're a powerhouse team. Same goes for LeBron, who didn't get exposed in the usual sense by the Celtics, considering he's the best player in the league today (and coming from a Lakers fan). But in the way you're using the word--i.e. having your flaws picked apart/outplayed badly--yeah, they were all exposed.
For the record, I agree with you in that Jeremy was picked apart like a toy last night but still is a great player that'll only get better with time.

Agreed. There are so many other sources for the hype: being the 4th player ever from Harvard to make it to the NBA, being overlooked in HS for D1 scholarships despite the state title and California POY honors, going undrafted, being waived by two teams, being one day away from getting fired, having more points/assists in his first however many starts than Shaq/Iverson/etc., the list goes on. However, race plays a bigger role than the aforementioned reasons. If he weren't Asian, his real and bootleg jerseys wouldn't be sold out in China, his jersey wouldn't be the highest selling on NBA.com, all of my Asian friends wouldn't be clamoring 24/7 on Facebook about his stats, and my own mom wouldn't be raving about Lin, as every Asian parent has been doing, all of which elevate the hype.
