I would do it in a heartbeat as well.
#2 could be Williams, OR a PG. Bynum/Love/#2 going forward, maybe Ebanks can grow, and still have Lamar/Kobe and Ron for now, we could still make a run and get younger (with less heavy contracts) right away.
Minny gets the guy they want to build around............but, there is no way this deal could be true. Minny don't wanna build around no 30 year old dude, when they have a kid at PF, and the #2 comin in. Why do that to themselves?

According to Eric Pincus there is reportedly serious consideration in Los Angeles and Minnesota for a trade that would involve Pau Gasol and Kevin Love.
Rumor has it the Lakers and Timberwolves could possibly swap power forwards with a few other pieces added to the mix. The trade would most likely be beneficial to both teams, as both Los Angeles and Minnesota would benefit from the trade.
After a dismal post-season, Gasol is facing plenty of scrutiny in Los Angeles. The news that Ricky Rubio is now joining Minnesota is also important, as the Timberwolves reportedly like the relationship between Gasol and the young point guard. The two played together for the Spanish national team that won a silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
For Los Angeles, bringing in some young blood might be exactly what the team needs. New coach Mike Brown has stated that defense and energy will be his mantra, and Kevin Love brings a little of both to the table. Love also provides Los Angeles will rebounding, an area where they could use a little bit more help.
Love is also a local favorite, as he spent his college days, albeit only one season, at UCLA. He led UCLA to a Final Four appearance during his season with the Bruins.

Los Angeles is way over the cap, and with a new collective bargaining agreement looming there's no telling what the salary cap situation will look like moving into the future. Exactly. How is Love going to fare with Bynum, whose touches are going to increase when he couldn't play with Al Jefferson? Isn't defense an issue we all had with last year's team? Well Gasol looks like Bill Russell in comparison to Love. Remember, the Lakers have basically played an extra season in the last 4 years & those minutes definitely hurt Gasol. Phil didn't help those numbers by overplaying Pau, he was 8th in minutes played with 3037, only guy in the top 10 in his 30's. I definitely say no to this, even though the article is predicated on joining Gasol with Rubio & not fact.

Terrible trade.... If it wasn't for the #2 pick involved it would be one of the worst trades..
Pau blew in the playoffs.... BUT Pau fits perfectly with Kobe... Love + Kobe with Bynum sounds horrific...
We need a solid 4/5 off the bench... A starting PG..A reliable 2 guard off the bench.... And we could get rid of Ron Ron, SBreezy and 2or 3 of our 4 -2nd round picks to make it happen...
F our future.. Kobe's got 3-4 years left.. We should be sacrificing the "future" to try and get 2 or 3 more titles.. And this is not a move that works in that direction..
