Regardless of the price, I thought this past weekends card was pretty weak. Bisping was technically proficient the entire fight but just not that exciting.

EliteXC "Night of Champions," scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev., has been cancelled as the promotion heads into its final days of business, Sherdog.com has learned from numerous sources.
Joey Villasenor, who was slated to challenge Robbie Lawler for the EliteXC middleweight crown in Reno, was informed of the show's cancellation Monday evening.
TJ Thompson, a Pro Elite executive, said he'd been informed Monday morning by the company that they were closing its doors for good this week and that bankruptcy paperwork had already been filed. Thompson's Hawaii-based Icon Sport promotion was purchased by EliteXC's parent company, Pro Elite, in 2007.
As of Monday afternoon, Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer said he had not received word that the event had been cancelled.
A notice posted Monday evening at graciefighter.com read, "We are confirming that EliteXC has folded. What this means for our fans and supporters is that there will not be a Nick Diaz vs. Eddie Alvarez fight on November 8th."
Graciefighter.com is operated by representatives of Diaz's camp, who was slated to face Alvarez for the vacant EliteXC 160-pound title.
Representatives from Pro Elite did not return calls Monday.
Pro Elite, which has accrued $55 million deficit during its two years of operation, had been in need of a helping hand in recent months.
On Sept. 17, Showtime Networks filed public notice with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announcing its intention to enter preliminary negotiations for the purchase of the fledgling company.
Showtime, a subsidiary of the parent conglomerate CBS Corporation, already has broadcasting deals with the Los Angeles-based company on both its premium cable channel and CBS. Showtime also has a 20% ownership stake in Pro Elite.
Discussions of Pro Elite's purchase were said to have gone well and a deal looked imminent as of two weeks ago when EliteXC held its third installment of "Saturday Night Fights" on CBS. The Oct. 4 event, which was funded entirely by Showtime, drew 4.56 million viewers and almost matched their initial May offering on the network.
But negative press surrounding questionable conduct before the main event between Seth Petruzelli and Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson have overshadowed the ratings success. Petruzelli, who stepped into the headlining bout on an hour's notice and beat Slice in 14 seconds with a short right jab, intonated afterward on a Monday morning talk show that promoters had given him added monetary incentive to stand with the less ground-savvy Slice.
Pro Elite officials later denied any wrongdoing, calling the pre-fight locker room discussion a "knockout bonus" offer, but public outcry led the Florida State Boxing Commission to open an investigation on the matter.

bas trying to train kimbo to be a mediocre fighter just like he was.
who in today's game trains only one aspect no matter who they are facing?

Kimbo is go to Japan, and be a freak show for the Japanese audience
If Bob Sapp has taught us anything, Kimbo can carve himself out a nice living over there if in fact he makes that move.
I think he meant the AFL, but I don't know what they're doing now. IF Affliction ends up having one or two more PPVs, then I can see Ginafighting there. Or Strikeforce. I see a lot of people who aren't going to the UFC/WEC heading over there.Originally Posted by rickybadman

i see Gina going to the international fight league because they want to match her up with larosa. as for kimbo he will be lucky if strikeforce even picks him up
Fedor's Manager Vadim Finklestein Addresses Dana White
By Jason Perkins | October 23, 2008
Vadim Finklestein is well known in MMA circles as the man who manages Fedor Emelienenko, perhaps the greatest fighter in the world. Finklestein took exception to a piece we ran a few days ago in which Dana White stated that the door is wide open for Fedor to come to the UFC and face Randy Couture. Below is Finklestein's official response:
Dana says UFC's doors are wide open. Maybe they are. But these doors also shut tightly once the fighter signs with the organization. Randy Couture came back to the UFC and what now?
Instead of fighting the best in the promotion he has to fight a young upstart with 2-1 pro-record. Couture might not survive all the three contractual fights. I'm afraid that's being made in order to finish the star which is Randy and not let him fight Fedor.
I said it many times - we are ready to make this clash happen in any shape of joint event.
This bout is the most anticipated event in the world of MMA. But Fedor will not sign to the enslaving terms of the UFC contract while UFC won't agree to make compromise.
Why would Fedor need to prove anything to anybody? He's already defeated 4 ex-UFC champions and twice UFC Interim champion in Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
According to White there are guys better than Tim Sylvia. Well, who are they?
Looking at the world rankings one can conclude it is Fedor himself, Couture whose situation I discussed above, then it's Nogueira, Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski. To face off with Josh or Andrei there is no need for Fedor to come to UFC. He'll fight them at Affliction.
I truly believe Dana White did more for MMA than anybody else, but at the moment he is the one who hinders the sport's progress. He seems like a man with a big tasty pie who's afraid that someone comes and bites a piece of it.
All we want is mutually beneficial cooperation but the old conditions offered by UFC are simply unacceptable.
