Its silly to say you don't like how your favorite sport turned hollywood

When you remember the days when players actually were rivals and not actors in a sit-com

You can't be serious
there are still rivalries in the NBA, but Lebron and Wade were never rivals. IMO you got to meet each other in the postseason, to become rivals. Regular Season games don't cut-it.

Lebron vs Celtics/Pierce is/was a rivalry

Wade vs Celtics/Pistons was a rivalry

Kobe vs Suns was a rivalry

Dallas vs Phoenix was a rivalry

I don't know why you all are complaining about haters, haters mean you made it, haters mean you have done something, it is something that comes with the territory

I'm not saying there are no rivals left in the game

I'm saying what other player took it to movie status just to get traded

Screwed up numerous teams in hopes that he was coming to them

Name him I'll wait

Dude you're wrong

Yes I've seen all those fan bases hate on each other

Just recently I've seen Wade Stans hate on Lebron's 2009 MVP season

All great player fanbases hate on each other...it flat out foolish to say otherwise

Man, OBVIOUSLY with all the fans in the world, not EVERY wade fan will be a bron fan, tmac fan etc but don't sit here and front like it's the same type of hate Kobe fans give to ALL the other wing players. Again, when was the last time you saw a hate thread for Tmac, Bron, Wade, etc just on Niketalk ALONE that wasn't started by a Kobe fan?

You're really full of it if you really believe its' the same. When Bron won, who did you see coming out of the wood work hating? Surprise surprise...KOBE FANS! When Wade won his first ring, who'd you see coming out hating....surprise again....KOBE FANS! Stop it.

Again dude youre flat out wrong

Maybe you weren't paying attention to the other threads but I can find plenty of threads hating on Kobe by other players Stans

Do you really want me to dig up all those old threads?

LMAOOOO AT THE LEBRON LEAVING CLEVELAND TALK!!! YOU GUYS ARE SO PETTY ITS SAD!! Lebron haters are the WORST!!! Its crazy!!!

Exactly.
This too. Had he not done that (and played a part in what was pretty much a big Heat pep rally), no one would have had any problem, other than them possibly beating their teams. So when you think about it, after all this time, all the Lebron detractors are mad about a televised announcement of a FA destination, and a pep rally. How silly does that sound?

I'm gonna assume you quoted the wrong poster's comment, cause this reply doesn't even make sense

If you know you can't present it as a trade of players for coaches why wouldn't they just trade him for a pick from the start? I wonder are they gonna now work another deal for KG or Pierce.

^^LOL.exactly..go to espn message boards and section 140s for any Laker game and all youll see are Heat trolls.

Yes, Let's compare LeBron's situation in Cleveland to the aforementioned, as if they are even remotely the same.

now that you look back on it who really gives a **** if they all wanted to play together.

there have been teams in the past with way better talent team wise whether it be trade or free agent. so what. no matter how they got on the team they still got on the team.

no laker fan should be crying about how stacked a team is. those lakers 80's teams were STACKED

Let the record reflect

You fools wondering where the Lebron hate is coming from

I keep asking you to name another player who screwed numerous teams around and took being traded to the extreme of making it look like a movie,sit-com,reality show

*crickets*

Therefore yo boy ask for the hate and that's why he got it

Stop playing dumb

Clips, Celts reach deal for Rivers
Updated: June 23, 2013, 6:56 PM ET
By Jackie MacMullan | ESPNBoston.com

Sources: Doc Rivers Headed To Clippers

Jackie MacMullan discusses the details of the reported deal that will send Doc Rivers to the Clippers.

Sources confirmed on Sunday that the Clippers will sign Rivers to a three-year, $21 million contract. They will send a 2015 first-round pick as compensation to the Celtics, who have agreed to release the coach from the three years, $21 million he has remaining on his deal with the club.

Sources close to the process told ESPN that the Clippers believe the deal with Rivers will clinch Chris Paul's signature on a new five-year max contract. Paul becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Contrary to previous reports, according to league and team sources, the Celtics have been complicit all along in assisting Rivers make the switch from Boston to Los Angeles.

Although Danny Ainge, the Celtics' director of basketball operations, was initially irked that Rivers was lukewarm about returning to Boston, where a rebuilding process soon will be underway, team sources said he recognized the best way to accumulate the first-round draft picks he covets would be to relinquish his two most valued assets -- Rivers and Kevin Garnett. Since then, he and Rivers have been working side by side to secure a deal that is best for both parties, sources said.

Team sources confirmed Ainge also has been trying to secure a first-round pick for veteran Paul Pierce, who can be bought out by June 30 for $5 million. The Celtics have been unsuccessful thus far, leaving open the possibility they keep Pierce and his $15.3 million contract and attempt to deal him again at the trade deadline next winter, when teams historically look for veteran help and are willing to overpay.

Celtics ownership, which blanched at the thought of paying a coach $7 million a season for a team that will not be in contention for a division title, never mind an NBA title, is also on board with Rivers' departure, sources said.

League and teams sources also confirmed that for now, any deal involving Garnett and the Clippers is on hold in light of commissioner David Stern's objections to the appearance that the KG deal (for DeAndre Jordan) and Rivers were related.

One source with knowledge of the NBA's thinking told ESPN.com that the league does not intend to change its stance as expressed by Stern in multiple radio interviews Thursday, meaning that the league would view any subsequent trade agreement between the Celtics and Clippers involving Garnett to be part of the Rivers deal and thus in violation of league rules.

Team sources also indicated that Rivers is frustrated with the perception that he was the driving force behind the push to go to the Clippers, or that he was unwilling to coach the Celtics if Pierce and Garnett were not going to be on the roster.

"Doc never said any such thing," a source close to the coach said. "He just wasn't sure if he could rev himself up for years of rebuilding. He never issued any ultimatums about anyone."

The Celtics have a news conference scheduled for noon on Monday, where, sources said, Rivers is expected to explain his decision to leave Boston after nine seasons.

The Clippers always believed they would be able to land Rivers and never considered Friday's breakdown in talks to be anything more than a "cooling off" for both sides. Clippers president Andy Roeser and vice president of basketball operations Gary Sacks called Boston early Sunday morning to revisit the talks.

Yahoo! Sports and The Boston Globe earlier reported the Clippers and Celtics renewed talks for Rivers after hitting an impasse on Friday.

The Clippers were prepared to hire either Brian Shaw or Byron Scott on Monday if the deal for Rivers could not be worked out, sources said

Not like Doc alone is bringing them a championship.

They better get Garnett and Pierce or else Chris Paul is just going to be rotting away his prime.

Which "numerous teams" are you talking about? The only team he "screwed up" were the Cavs. No he wasn't going to the Bobcats, not the Rockets (they were focusing on Bosh, as they assumed Lebron would go to Miami, the same thing other people with common sense thought), not LA, Orlando, not Chicago to play with Rose (LOL), not NY (cau cau cause Lebron loves playing at MSG :wow:) or any where else. The teams that had the best shot at getting (or keeping) him were Miami and Cleveland. So unless you're from Cleveland, you shouldn't be mad or catching feelings, especially 3 years later.

i don't think Lebron can keep up the pace, but this is greatness

Magic at 28 5 Rings, 3 Finals MVP, 1 MVP

Bird at 28 3 Rings, 2 Finals MVP, 3 MVP
Since Lebron didn't go to college of course he was able to accomplish more than Jordan in the NBA at 28. Let's compare their first 10 seasons instead (only 9 for Jordan since he retired his next year):

Jordan (9 seasons):

3 Rings

3 Finals MVP

2 MVP

Lebron (10 seasons):

2 Rings

2 Finals MVP

4 MVP

If Jordan hadn't retired he very well could have had 4 rings, 4 Finals MVPs, and 3 MVPs compared to Lebron's 2 rings, 2 Finals MVPs, and 4 MVPs with 10 seasons both under their belts.  Even without that extra year, 3 rings, 3 Finals MVPs, and 2 MVPs are much more even to Lebron's 2 rings, 2 Finals MVPs, and 4 MVPs than the skewed age statistic shows.
