If you watched him during the World Juniors this year, it really isn't a question.

Dude can flat out SCORE. I know it isn't NHL competition, but he has been playing in older leagues his entire life, word to OHL at 14.

The Islanders have a stock pile of young forwards. Ive read a few times on HFBoards they would draft Tavares and trade him, draft Hedman, or just add Tavaresto the stable of players with the latter being a last resort.

He's improved A TON. Before he wasn't as good as he was now, he definitely wasn't going to be a force in the NHL. He's grown andput on more weight/muslce. IMO he's a lock to go #1 and the Islanders would be STUPID to not take him. IF a deal does get thrown at the Isles, it better bea damn good one.

Brian Burke is talking about trying to get that #1 pick... I have absolutely no idea how he plans to do that because he has nobody on that roster that is worthanything special besides maybe Luke Schenn.

He would have to give them something like... Schenn, Grabovski, Tlusty, + their next three 1st round picks.

Maybe I exaggerated a little bit... you get the point though...

Word is he just wants to move up, not sure how he intends to get that #1 pick from the Isles though. As you stated, we don't have a lot to work with interms of trading. I know for a FACT he won't be trading away Luke Schenn, I know he said "anyone can get traded, Gretzky got traded", but Burkeabsolutely loves Schenn. I was with Schenn and Mayers on Thursday night and they were both saying how Burke is really committed to turning around this Leafsfranchise

^ what are they going to say Burke is going to destroy it? I know he wants to keep Schenn and rebuild Toronto, but at the end of the day its a business and ifhe can somehow get the the #1 pick I wouldn't be surprised if he deals Schenn away.
