Upper was totally different, along with the swoosh not being pleather.

Wasn't around for OGs, but personally don't remember anyone my age then rocking 2009 Freshwaters. Most popular CWs were the silver/teals, Volts, and Cincinnati Reds CWs from that retro run.

As far as 2021, it's pretty identical to that retro imo.

Griffey is my favorite BB player. Even more intriguing, we both left-handed. At one point in time had a plethora of his BB cards.

I started with the Diamond Fury (Black/White) pair. I remember my 10th grade year, working the entire summer (planting grass) at my uncle's house just to get the Freshwaters haha...

So, I drove through some spots today. I have to say these were not plentiful. The DTLRs and City Gears didn't even get men sizes only GS. Champs had one size 12 available which I didnt like this midsole paint. One of the employees showed me the inventory list where they had a 2 size run down to a size 11. Checked Hibbets today and they had the shipment of the new Jordan 3s and Griffeys still at the counter boxed in Alabaster AL. boxes. When dude scanned the shipment, they only had up to a size 11.5. I ask each store I called or visited if they are expecting late shipments and all of them said; "what they got was it."

I don't know how it is in other areas. At least l was able to try on a size 12. I ended up ordering online.

Like fam said, the materials are very cheap. I haven't own a pair since the OGs in 96... Thats wild 30 years ago...

Pull tabs are a problem across the board. They are shorter, thinner, and slimmer than OG and previous retro versions for the most part.

It’s truly sad that Nike continues to bastardize this iconic silhouette with cheap materials and small air units. With them finally giving the AM 95 a proper air unit, they should have done it on these too. This is the 30th anniversary and we got Temu Fresh Waters, thanks Nike!

Depending on the size, not good. These have moved pretty well. My pair got delivered to my job after I left. Will have to grab them in the morning.
