I guess it's a reference to his tie, but dunno how I feel about the laces.

Yes, I know... but I was specifically referring to the champagne-colored flat laces, which was the same color of his tie.
I, personally, don't quite like the look of the flat laces with the AGMs. Will need to see it IRL.

I think they ganked us on that big bubble talk. I looked at 2015 neon 95s and put them side by side next to my 2026 neons....and let's just say the feeling wasn't restored for me lol. That being said if they try that for other models, I'll be slow to take the bait.

OGs are a thing of beauty. The (seamed) big bubble with the numbered psi on the air soles....The pebbled nubuck... Nubuck Swoosh...

These newer models are nothing like the OGs. Even the panels placements are off... Look at how high the middle panel is on the OG from the midsole and then look at my pair. Look at how far the back panel is from the last hump on the midsole just above the rear air sole...

I only had the OGs back in 96 and never check for these through the years. Nike did a disservice to these and I guess nostalgia got the best of me....

Yeah I see the difference. The cut of nubuck/Durabuck is shorter on the retros. The embossed grooves on the last hump near the heel air max bubble should almost be perpendicular. I would love to own the OG Griffey 1's. Theyre a grail of mine.

2009 retro was pretty good but this release I’m very disappointed in the amount of defects of the actual wearability of the shoe. The way they were assembled -at least for size 13’s- was very poorly done

Im a 13 in Griffey Max 1's too. I missed out on the 09 Emeralds. I just grabbed the Volts from in store from Snipes and the Emeralds online from FTL. We will see how these act/look when they come in.

09s were nice.

I still have my pair but the midsole paint has chipped some.

Uppers are phenomenal.

Quality is bad but Nike knows most folks will purchase because of nostalgia. I was in 4th grade and remember mom saying "I'm not buying expensive shoes until your foot stops growing.." Used to piss me off lol.

I'll definitely share what I find when the freshwaters come in tomorrow. As far as I can tell, the volts feel similar to the emeralds from 2011.
