    Nike Sportswear NSW M51 Parka

Never shying away from the great military silhouettes over the years, Nike Sportswear's NSW range will draw inspirations from the 1951-released M51parka in an upcoming September release. Combining a 2L Storm Fit material with many of NSW's technically innovative production processes, this looks to beanother solid bit of design from the Nike Sportswear apparel team led by Jarrett Reynolds.

The NSW Collection presents M51 Parka

Uniting the worlds of sport and culture, the NSW collection is the pinnacle apparel collection within the broader Nike Sportswear line. Infusing Nike'sDNA and heritage into sport pieces, NSW challenges the mindset of the modern athlete and creative perspectives on sport. Designed for sport, re-mastered forlife, this integrated collection acts as a North Star for Nike Sportswear design and informs new aesthetics using the amalgamated innovations of 37 years ofNike's deep roots.

"This season the NSW collection highlights Nike's ability to draw inspiration from tradition while continuing to introduce innovative performancesportswear that remains aesthetically iconic. Each piece is obsessively designed to be the pinnacle of both performance and style, and this season unleashesthat creativity to new forms." - Jarrett Reynolds, Nike Sportswear Design Director.

In September, the NSW Collection presents you "M51 Parka", Nike's unequaled pursuit of a higher level of function, performance and style.

The NSW M51 Parka The M51 Parka draws inspiration from the all-weather military silhouette with an innovative Nike twist. Linerless 2L Storm Fit keeps theM51 light and capable no matter the mission, while laser cut pocket detailing and laser cut perforated pit vents make the M51 a Parka unlike any other. NSWtonal branding adorns the M51 to let all know where you stand.

1951 spawned a military-issue style icon. Initially designed for the freezing conditions of the Korean War, the M-51 was quickly adopted as the uniform of ayouth movement. To understand the M-51 Parka's influence one need only look to the post WWII youths of Great Britain. Battle-tested and in pursuit ofhonest experience, they were passionate about American rock-n-roll and R&B, British café racers and Italian scooters. What started with the Teddy Boysevolved to become the Ton Up Boys and the Coffee Bar Cats, and would later give rise to the Rockers and the Mods. With a focus on clean style and a continualreincarnation of modern aesthetics, ideals, and fashion, the Mods adopted the M51 Parka as the preferred outerwear piece - first by necessity and later bychoice. The M51 stands true, re-appropriated as a style icon for modern pursuits.

The M51 Parka receives a re-up on innovation while remaining identifiably true to form. Linerless 2L Storm-FIT replaces the heavy cotton canvas of theoriginal. Laser-cut pocket detailing and laser-cut perforated pit vents keep the M51 light and capable no matter your mission. Inspired by the original, theM51 fishtail features waterproof zips, offering modularity that every Playmaker needs, in any environment.

Nike Sportswear x Loopwheeler 2009 Holiday Collection

Forged through a shared passion for innovation, meticulous craftsmanship, and authentic, high-quality fleece, the partnership between Nike Sportswear'sNSW Collection and Japan's Loopwheeler continues with a series of products in premium loopback French terry fleece.

The fleece used for all NSW Loopwheeler products-is knitted on the brand's rotating looms through a process that holds its heritage as close as Nikeholds its own. The yarn on the loopwheel never comes under tension, resulting in a relaxed fabric that is supremely soft. Under the watchful eye ofLoopwheeler's craftsmen, a mere handful of Loopwheeler fleece garments can be made from the material produced each day. After the fleece is hand-cut andflat-lock stitched to insure comfort and durability, the results are nearly impossible to match.
A marriage of obsessions, the relationship between Nike andLoopwheeler stands for supreme quality and meticulous craftsmanship. Working closely with Loopwheeler, one of the only manufacturers in the world that stillmakes cotton fabric on original loopwheel machines, Nike has crafted iconic Nike Sportswear products that are practically handmade. Created though anincredibly detailed process, the NSW Loopwheeler collection is extremely limited in quantity and unsurpassed in quality.

    Nike Sportswear NOISE Raglan

Having originally released a t-shirt featuring the same design, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Nike Sportswear unveil a follow-up to the original NOISE collection withthis raglan. From our recent interview with HF, the design premise was simple in finding something that was along the same lines of the Nike brand as he soughtout a powerful word that began with an N and ended with an E. Look for the raglan to be available at select retailers.
