Official PC thread.

Finished my two builds. I have one for browsing NT and the misc and the other one just for porn and vr porn

And the second build

Video card for both is a 1660 super which was bought at msrp, so about $240 I think.

I camped out at a microcenter at 5am for a 3080 and they only got 5 cards. and I was about 40th in line I'm just going to wait for a restock.

Got a 3070 but had to buy a prebuilt to get it. Cyberpower had a mlk day deal with a build that had a free upgrade from a 3060 ti to a 3070. So I lowered the other specs a bit enough to build a nice little beast with my 1070, swapped the cards then sold the prebuild. After everything the 3070 Ended up being 400 something which is not bad.

Nice.

That's too much for me and I don't want to take the risk of reselling the parts. I don't want to also take the risk of not knowing which card I'd get by going with a prebuilt.

For anyone thinking about camping out I'd say it's not worth it. From what I found out it's literally the same neckbeards camping out everyday since they're unemployed and they don't line up at night, they line up since 10am or something

It really is a ish show right now with graphic cards. Nvidia released a press release they were going to start throttling 3060s for mining and instead want miners to go after their dedicated crypto miners.

Bros, do you have any router recommendations? I was looking at the Netgear Nighthawk R7000, but I'm seeing a lot of them on eBay and not sure if that's a good sign or not.

Anything suggestions that will future proof my home network for years and not have to drop big money.

Get a Mesh Wifi setup, those "one router for everything" setups are no longer suitable for like 2-story houses in the modern age as we approach having "smart homes" that run on wifi for everything like cameras, lights, and even door bells (cameras).

Staying on the topic of the Netgear brand, I definitely recommend this Netgear Orbi mesh wifi setup as a starter

Note: Yes, you can still hook up to one of these mesh wifi hubs as a wired connection as well if you wanted too.........just like you would with a regular router.

Do you recommend Orbi over Google Wifi? I currently have one Google Wifi pod and was considering to buy another pod to expand my network.

I'll be moving into a 2-br apt.

Yeah b/c of the extra "wired options" you get from the Orbi hub.............you get 4 ethernet ports per Orbi hub in comparison to the Google Wifi hubs that both have like 2 each

Lol... my HP from the above deal just shipped, after 2 delays. HP is trash. Anyway looking forward to getting it, taking out the 3070, putting it in my existing custom build and never touching the actual HP.

Probably just put it in the loft for when I wanna chill upstairs. Might sell it if I can get at least like $750

I dunno wtf happened, but not long after installing the 3070 in my custom rig... I updated... something, I don't remember, but nothing that should have restarted my computer automatically or changed any display settings. Anyway the **** just turned off and I couldn't get a picture when again after restarting several times. I was starting to get pissed because I thought I got a lemon or something and I already had one HP **** the bed on me for no reason, so I was ready to be upset.

Went ahead and installed my 2TB NVMe drive that I had been sitting on and looked for my flash drive with Windows 10 but couldn't find it anywhere. Went ahead and hooked up the OMEN and set it up so I could make another Windows drive, and I have to say, the build quality of this HP is much better than the Envy Phoenix that died on me. I know OMEN was acquired by HP and that they were building dope rigs way before that acquisition.

I might just keep it, and honestly, I'm thinking about flipping this card for $1,500 and buying the 30L with a 3060ti in it for $1,350. I seems silly not to do... as the 3070 isn't THAT much better. It would still be a big upgrade over my 980 ti, the computer itself would actually be an upgrade over my custom rig. Plus then I will have 3 different modern PCs, so I could put one in my bedroom, and that would be cool, I guess.

Currently downloading DOOM ETERNAL and GTA5. Might download Crysis too. lol

Listed the 3070 last night on ebay for $1,250 starting bid and $1,600 BIN. Woke up this morning and it was already sold and money sent, this **** is crazy. Guess I am gonna buy another computerr, but trying to decide if I want to settle with a 3060 ti rig for $1550 or get another Alienware with a 3070 for $200 more. Might just wait for a Dell coupon...

Honestly if I can keep doing this I might just upgrade and add a new PC to every room. I think I will give the 25L to my BM for her birthday so she might get serious about starting a business, streaming, or even just going to college.
