Official PC thread.

Here I was thinking that I was building my PC at the wrong time when I got my Aorus 5080 for $1800 back in June. So glad I finished building my PC just in time before this RAM price spike. Yikes.

I saw Crucial was doing preorders for RAM sticks yesterday.

But with console delays…and these companies not wanting to be stuck with dead stock…it’s the bubble bursting, new players entering the game (which ain’t happening) or more capacity.

I got a 5000 series Ryzen, 4090 and 128 GB of RAM in my desktop. I should be alright. I’m just scared of this streaming as a service model taking hold.

Recently got the lenovo legion go 2

What are your thoughts? I picked up an Xbox Ally X and am over the moon about it

Congrats on picking up the Xbox Ally X!

Thoughts so far... cant get over the huge 8.8" OLED screen 🔥. I previously used the old 2024 Ally X and wanted to try out a bigger screen and this definitely doesnt disappoint. But I do feel like i have to be a lot more careful carrying around this device despite the build quality being solid it feels like something more prone to break if it were to drop/fall. Other than that the speakers are solid, battery life is just about as good as my old Ally X, been gaming a lot more ever since I got it.

Edit:

Another thing noticed was Lenovo's Legion space software wasnt as snappier/as fast pulling up compared to ROG's Armoury Crate. Maybe when Lenovo brings the Xbox software to the Legion Go 2 that might change..

I'll post it here, don't think we have a dedicated PC gaming thread.

Can anyone assist me with playing CS2 with a Xbox controller?

I watched like 3 YouTube tutorials but none worked.

I was able to fix it for PUBG on PC, so kind of lost here.

The price they would have to charge with current prices would kill it. Sheesh, might have finally got me out of building though, save me money.

Precisely... even if they took an L to launch at a great rate for buyers, it would soon doom it later on if they quickly moved prices back into healthy profitability... at first, was just thinking they need to figure out how to drop them without RAM as as alternative option... but its a way bigger issue now.

Good grief I feel super vindicated for losing my mind and building multiple systems in 2025. Then went on to hoard enough parts to enjoy buidling in 2026 without feeling mamed. SMH...

Greed has made it difficult to be a die hard PC enthusiast the last 6 years.

I bought a laptop a few months ago. Forgot about the RAM crisis…wanted to upgrade to 64 GB and saw the $800 number ( an increase of 100%). I returned the laptop. Things can only get worse or hopefully something changes, it’s affecting Steam console, PS6 and next Xbox.

From a PC gaming and DIY build perspective, the segment is growing like wildfire... its leaving console gaming in the dust (popularity & profitabilty)... So with demand continuing to escalate (the last decade), combined with the AI driven hardware demand, its all being curved as of late... I just try to look at things as if it were my own coffee shop, and what I'd do to maximixe profits for the longevity of my own business... its tough to argue that anyone is to "blame" so to speak... the foundation of it all is organic growth and something PC enthusiats should be proud of... They were right, PC gaming is superior and more and more are realizing it everyday. Still, we all vote with our wallets and things will mend some. Not that "snapback" but more in our favor.

All this crap is starting to sit because its far too overpriced, ultimately we still control the market... it just takes some time to shift and adapt. They are still nothing without us.

I think my PC is broken. It powers on but OS doesn't boot up anymore nor do the mouse/keyboard power up when the tower is on.
