I guess it will be a lot of more $%+% to carry around if you want the umbrellas with the tripods and everything. Photos seem to come out great with just the omnibouncers, or what is your opinion about that?

lets see some pics

it really all depends on the situation, what are u shooting, cars, people, products....i mostly use a shoot thru umbrella but lately my silver umbrella hasbeen getting a lot of use

For low light shooting, you want to set the ISO higher, 800 is decent on the D40, have the aperture wide open (f/3.5) or (f/4) I think is the maxon the 55-200VR, and make the shutter speed slower. Sometimes, you can get away with just messing with one or the other, for example, just change ISO and seehow it turns out, if its still underexposed, change the aperture, and if its still too dark, use a longer shutter speed, but you have to have a steady hand, ora tripod. The VR also helps a bit.

First photo is from a Halloween event at Cow Palace.
Second is just a random with a friend.

Dope first shot. What kind of settings do you use for a shot like that?
I shot at f/5, iso 1600 and i metered the lights above the dj's head so they would be a bit overexposed.
I also used an external flash for fill.

nice seinfeld collection

I don't know what it is.. but the room layout, colors and that broom in the corner reminds me of a set on Naughty America. Specifically Dirty LatinaMaids.
