So after all that there was basically no point in swapping Biden for Harris. We literally ended up in the exact same position we would have been in if it would have just ran with Joe. The only thing we got was a vibe shift but the end result is the same.

It would be funny if it weren't sad.

I am telling ya'll, we need to organize outside these systems. These ruling elites don't serve us.

Maybe the strategy should be for us to unite based on class struggle ?

Also, I will never get how the working class and even non white go for the far right. It's really weird. Must be internalized racism, misogyny, white supremacy and capitalism.

Well, this will be Canada next year as it emboldens Trump wannabe to push and win for the next election.

They ran on the platform of "one candidate is a felon, dictator, sexual assault suspect, etc and the other....is not" and that was lazy. They also messed up pushing Joe Biden knowing the public was starting to see his mental decline due to age and then panicked when it was too late. They needed a strong candidate way earlier in the game. They basically pulled their starting QB for a rookie the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl
Harris ran a very good campaign (I was for Biden staying in the race btw), had few (if any) stumbles, and was forthcoming with most of her positions, even though the choice, on paper, was obvious.

We need to stop blaming Democrats for the deficiencies of the American electorate. We also shouldn't disregard the impact of the media coverage and the changing media landscape.

How don't know what they need to do. They can't fix dumb. They're gonna have to let them learn.

Welp.

Woke up to see that Kamala got absolutely debacled by Trump.

America was like "Y'all Dems wanna make a woman and a black one at that President..."

Kamalas campaign was TRASH :lol .no way you thought how she approached this was any good and the money she wasted on top of that.

Feeling like my fear of Harris taking over the ticket and people not wanting to vote for a black woman played a role.

Whatever the case, we see that white privilege is the strongest thing in the universe. Man won despite being an idiot (combined with being 80), saying he’ll go after his enemies, being racist and a convicted felon. Crazy times we’re in.

This energy is why Trump is in office.

Ran 2 ladies against Trump and took L’s…Clearly this country doesn’t want a woman in that position and based on this election definitely not one of color…that simple

It seems like forever ago but remember how happy Trump was after that debate when the chatter and momentum was to replace Joe? He knew that’s his toughest matchup no matter what, Dems did it to themselves in the end

Better join a union and organize because you aren’t getting any benefits from the government.

It is what it is, to sit here and act defeated won’t do a damn thing though.

This. This is exactly what I think as well. I was initially against Biden dropping out so late but I think Kamala was pretty darn good.

My takeaway is not that Dems failed; it’s that America is failing, as evidenced by the sheer stupidity of many voters last night.

America is about to FAFO unfortunately.

Yea like trump ran a bad campaign tbh. He essentially went IG live but in person and rambled about nonsense. America isn’t logical

Trump got like 45% of Latinos and all he did was trash them the whole time

You’re trying to extrapolate too much from a small sample size. Obviously, being a woman put Kamala behind the 8 ball but Joe would’ve lost last night too. Look at all the exit polling of people who thought Joe is doing a bad job. Last night appears to be a reactionary vote - so Nikki would have won if she was the R candidate.

And then look at races around the country where democratic white male incumbents lost (i.e. Sherrod Brown).

I don’t think it was race and gender of the candidate that lost this race. It’s a lot more complex.

Vietnamese are the most conservative Asians, so I'm not surprised.
What surprises me is that, given the results, some still attribute these outcomes to "uneducated people voting poorly" rather than recognizing these voters are prioritizing issues that matter to them. There’s a lesson here—not just for Trump supporters but for everyone. Dismissing people as “idiots” for supporting Trump misses the point. Instead, the focus should be on understanding why they’re voting that way and addressing those concerns consistently and early on. Kamala’s campaign centered heavily on topics like Roe v. Wade and Trump’s character, leaving other key issues unaddressed. There’s something for everyone to learn from this.

There's nothing to gain from pondering, but I'm willing to bet Joe would have performed better.

💯💯💯

I think she ran as good of a campaign as she possibly could have. Good messaging, crushed Trump in the debate. She was just in a tough spot because she only had three or four months to run a campaign whereas most candidates have around 18 months.

Under normal circumstances it probably would have made sense to have an open primary and probably choose a different candidate other than Kamala. She did a great job but at the end of the day she was always going to be tethered to Biden who is a historically unpopular president.

A completely fresh face (I liked Wes Moore or Josh Shapiro) fromwould have been ideal but you can't pluck someone out of relative obscurity four months before the election.

The real unfortunate part is that this is going to further tarnished Joe biden's legacy. If Kamala would have won he would have looked like a hero, a leader who willingly gave up power but instead he's going to look like an old man who held on too long when he knew he should have stepped aside earlier.

Two things.

-if you complained about inflation, please complain if the tariffs come to life. For that reason, I cannot wait until 2026 when the supporters make every excuse as to why the price of everything increases.

-most importantly (and no disrespect to anyone, but the truth will set you free).. worshipping the same God(s) as those that you vote against, based on their beliefs, is asinine.
