She’s using it as an example of how stigma can work.

Sexual, romantic, and social exclusion being the result of voting for Trump is good politics IMO.

It sends a message that not only will Trump NOT help you find a girlfriend, it will make it more difficult.

I think it's crazy the idea that the left hasn't tried enough stigma.

They tried stigmatising Trump. how'd that go?
Joe Rogan did that work?
don't normalize this, don't platform that. how did any of that go?
we spent 8 year calling typical male behaviors and interests toxic,
how did that work? Dave Chappelle? was that successful?

covid stingma didn't work either. it shattered the trust in the public health establishment and further eroded trust in institutions.

literally all the left does is stigmatize people and things.
and it's been a complete and total failure.

Tbh I don’t think this had much to do with Gaza when it comes to not giving Biden credit. Using people I know as a example in more progressive circles years before that if I mentioned something the Biden administration was doing that was great policy it was meet with “it won’t work, it don’t matter, they won’t enforce it”. It didn’t matter what happened they were never gonna give him credit cause they just don’t like him. If it’s not one reason it would be something else.
This makes me think that whomever Dems run in 2028 will have this exact same issue.

it's honestly crazy.
a real human actually sat around actually said "the left doesn't stigmatize people enough"

never stop moving left, moving further left is always the answer.

I mean Dems won both houses of Congress and the White House in 2020 so clearly something they were doing was right lol

I think the economy simply trumps (no pun intended) any of these culture wars the right and the left (in a much different way) engage in and that was shown in the elections this week. People by and large did not trust Biden and Dems with the post-COVID economy and handling immigration (Trump saw the latter and had GOP kill the immigration bill they agreed upon, which absolutely helped himself and the GOP).

They will if they are a “establishment” democrat for sure. But I do think there are options. Probably can’t do Tim walz rn but if you can find another dude like that who gives super regular guy energy a lot of average people aren’t offended by, isn’t establishment and a career politician and even has a history of passing progression legislation it could work.

Honestly the person I think would be best that seems to be really well liked by most in the big tent of the Democratic Party from centrists to progressives is Pete Buttigieg. But that ain’t happening and we know why.

If this all boils down to is

Progressive beliefs, Progressive policy, Moderate language

I can get with that. It is a little annoying yea but I’m not gonna be like those people I just complained about that can’t see the forest for the trees. I want progress I want productivity and I want better lives for people.
Honestly, all Dems need to say is that they will cut taxes for the middle class and will fund universal healthcare (without including information on the deficit they would have to run lol) and I think they have a winning message. Add in some language about stimulus checks for the middle class as well and you have the perfect progressive populist economic policy message lol

But idk Obama might have been enough for the voters the Dems need to gain back >D

Pete would be the perfect person but I completely agree than him being LGBTQ would basically ensure he would never win. Honestly, he would be a solid VP pick though.

I don’t think this is politics. I think it’s personal.

Chuds getting kicked out of dating is a well-documented phenomenon. Talking to younger women I know, these guys are odious for reasons besides their votes. Something really seems to be seriously wrong with how Gen-Z men have been taught with regards to dating.

If the tarifa go through, it will be a goldmine for liberal sugar daddies…

Doesn’t this assume that people moving to these places are all conservative?

Yes and no. Based on recent analysis people who have moved move to more conservative or more liberal areas depending on their alignment. You best believe that with the abortion law along with other stuff Texas will lose their liberal population but they’ll gain plenty of conservatives anyway.

I liked Walz, but his energy at times seemed a bit out of control. Wonder if Kamala regrets not opting for Shapiro.

Didn't Democrats say the first part?
Tax cuts for household incomes of 400k and less?
What's 25k assistance for first-time homebuyers but a stimulus check?
What's the relaunch of the pandemic-era child monthly stipend but a stimulus check?

At what point do we just sit back and let these people learn? They want to be wooed, but they need to cry first.

I kind of want people to suffer to see what they chose. I know it’s selfish of me in my financial situation since I’m so insulated but man there I no other way people will learn. Deport family members, cause massive inflation, etc.

Eh I don't think it was close enough for it to matter.

I think it did signal a lack of ruthlessness.

If you were singularly focused on maximizing your chance of winning you obviously choose Shapiro.

It's not that I want folks to suffer; it's that people need to understand that their vote has material consequences, and I think we're past the point in American society where we need to find the next superstar politician to shield people from their own accountability. In a democracy, citizens have the responsibility to be informed.

The way I see it, all these takes about what the Democrats need to do come from a place that refuses to acknowledge the reality that Democrats have moved right, and they haven't been rewarded by the electorate; they've moved left, and they haven't been rewarded by the electorate. What else is there to do other than accept the role of permanent political punching bag?

It's time to let the American people have the demagoguery they want.
