I agree with the general point he is kinda trying to make, about bias in favor of white males. But his suggestion that the 2020 nominee better be a white male, when he himself is running btw, is what is idiotic.

I was on assignment a few days ago covering a Republican candidate for congress (Joe Schneider) here at a nursing home in Massachusetts. A lady came up to me and told me to get my facts straight regarding Republicans because it’s “misleading readers.” She was trembling while she was talking to me, and I can sense her anger just by her approach.
I’m a photojournalist.
She was so incensed and continued to press on about “fake news.” Also, it’s my second week covering Republicans and I guess they have their ways with the old people.
Bottomline was that the old folks are definitely gearing up for the elections and as much as I was extra patient explaining about what I do, they’re hard to get through.

Trump turning on trans people is so not surprising. People are ultimately pulled towards oppression against all marginalized identities or liberation of all marginalized identities and it is hard to maintain an equilibrium where you are in favor of liberating certain groups but in favor of oppressing other groups.
people do try to construct these customized, hybrid ideologies of oppression towards some and liberation towards others. Many white supremacists don't start off caring about gender politics but in time, they come to see the white race locked in a demographic war and then they believe that all whites must be hyper-fecund and martial in character so then they want all white women to be chaste before marriage then become breeding stock and home makers when they marry in their mid teens. The white supremacists needs all men to be traditionally masculine and willing to start a family and fight in the coming race war so there's no room for any other sort of masculinity (hence their disdain for "soyboys") and their is certainly no room for homosexuality or gender ambiguity.
Other white supremacists start off being neutral or negative towards capitalism, they want harrenvolk democracy in their future white ethno state but over time they come to realize how inter related capitalism has been with white supremacy. Those harrenvolk bros turn into capitalist chauvinists, they will claim that America "should be run like a business" and they actually mean it should be run like most work places, autocratically by an older white guy.
Of Course we have the libertarians who start off as capitalists chauvinists who imagine the world as corporate American would like it to be, a vast, borderless, cosmopolitan world where everyone is a have or soon-to-have. Very quickly, the libertarian sees that capitalism is not the vast and emancipatory force that capital and its managers claimed it was. So how to solve the contradiction? Ah ha, claim that poverty results from people failing to serve the markets correctly. This applies to all people since capital is not discrimantory. But wait, black people tend to be poorer at higher rates, they must have bad culture since they are more likely to not serve the market so therefore, they shouldn't get to vote because they'd vote themselves socialism. In order to keep white rule and thus protect capitalism, we need rigidly defined gender roles among whites and they must produce future wifes and soldiers for the impending race war.
This process of injustice in one area metastasizing into injustice against all but cis-straight, white, rich men, not just limited to white men. It ropes in folks whose identity is marginalized one one area but privileged into others. As Capitalism requires white supremacy, patriarchy, nationalism and imperialism to thrive (and all of the violence that it entails), black or gay or female capitalists or managers of capital can start to see the world the way the rich white men ,who run it and comprise the vast majority of capital owners and managers, see it.
So no there will never be a trans inclusive Republican party, rich white Republican women will not become a reliable Democratic constituency, so called "South Park" Republicans will all end up as fascists and there will never be black, brown or women's liberation to be found in neoliberal capitalism. It ain't happening because injustice will always beget more injustice within people's hearts and in the halls of power.
