For those in CA, what are your thoughts on Prop. 6 regarding the Gas Tax? I'm torn.

Because of the blackballing of Colin Kaepernick

The "I'm not saying he's racist, I'm saying the racists think he's racist" is a great political jab. That being said, DeSantis seems to be making the case just fine on his own.

When the Florida primaries ended, DeSantis went on Fox News and urged Florida citizens to "not monkey this up" by voting for Gillum.
"The last thing we need to do is monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupt the state."
DeSantis strongly denied any accusations of racially inflammatory language. Fox News released a statement that the network does not condone such language. DeSantis argued in his defense that in his words he "accidentally" made the monkey it up comment. At the same time that kind of implies he subconsciously had that kind of language in the back of his head and instinctively blurted it out.

DeSantis was an administrator of a large facebook group that largely engaged in explicitly racist comments and memes. DeSantis doesn't appear to have posted anything himself, but he and 2 other Republican candidates were listed as administrators of the group. The others are Corey Stewart from West-Virginia and Kelly Ward from Arizona. Kelly Ward did not disavow the group and defended her active participation.
DeSantis initially denied having anything to do with that group but later confirmed that he was a member. He insisted that he had been added as an administrator without his knowledge.
He also added that he swiftly left the group at that time but his wife continued her membership. Technically anyone on DeSantis and his wife's friendlist could have added them to the group, the same goes for being added as an administrator.

DeSantis attended an annual David Horowitz event, which included the host arguing that the only victims of a serious race war are whites.
Invited speakers included an actual pedophilia apologist, Milo Yiannopoulos, who somehow managed to get himself fired for that reason at Breitbart.
Other speakers such as Katie Hopkins, advocated for putting Muslims in internment camps. Trump has praised the latter as a highly respected columnist in spite of her firing from the Daily Mail due to a successful libel lawsuit against her from a school teacher.

I'd sure love to attend this wonderful man's event. Multiple times even. Must've been pretty great if DeSantis attended in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
If I was in DeSantis' position I'd have surely walked away with the same view. Also a nice gesture of Horowitz to pay for all of DeSantis' expenses at the luxury resort where the 2017 event was held.
"David has done such great work and I've been an admirer"
"I've been to these conferences in the past but I've been a big admirer of an organization that shoots straight, tells the American people the truth and is standing up for the right thing."

Ummm, niffle (what I call nfl) & the ncaa sport is stupid as **** to begin with. Ya'll watch for 3 1/2 hours or so for 11 mins of actual game play... That's the dumbest ish I can think of. Imagine if you watched a tv show or movie that was only 11 mins long (over a 3 1/2 hour period) but it was all broke up with commercials, replays, commentary, & shots of the people sitting in the audience...

Gambling & fantasy sports are the only reason why that "sport" is still alive. Ish is fake like "wrastling"... It's not even football...

The "monkey it up" comment was certainly not well thought out. At best, it was a lazy mistake. At worst it was intentionally racist. Of course, there is a non-racist meaning of the phrase. Much like horsing around, etc.

As you said anyone could have added them to the group and made them administrators.

You cant impose the beliefs of supporters on the candidate. As I mentioned earlier that is lazy and ridiculous. And a failed tactic as it related to Obama and Farrakhan.

Now, if DeSantis is a racist, that is truly disgusting and disqualifying.

Kaep is definitely getting black balled... I laugh whenever I see QBs like blake bortles, sam bradford, ryan tannehil, case whats his name in Denver... None of those cats should be playing in that "league" much less making the dough they're making.

Watching that "sport" & especially paying to go to an "event" is absolutely ridiculous. Only reason to go to an "event" would be to drink & hang out with friends... But in reality, you're just doing a lot of standing around in the cold...

Absolutely moronic "sport"...

I’m voting no because the roads all over CA are jacked up. I was driving on the 10 through the San Gabriel valley in LA and kept thinking my car had a flat tire because of how bumpy it was.

Big picture, taxes pay for roads/libraries/post offices/public schools etc and we pay taxes. Want the city infrastructure to improve, gotta pay up.

Also prop 6 is heavily endorsed by republicans, so that’s a non starter already.

These were my thoughts as well. I've already seen major road work on the freeways I drive everyday. Like you said, we gotta pay up if we want to see things improve.
