The wall was just a mnemonic trick to remind Trump to tell good white people, that bad off-white hombres where taking their lives and jobs. Only Trump was dumb, he had to get his briefings in crayola drawings and proceeded to convince his crayola eating base, that there were literal human tsunamis of killers and rapists forming caravans and overflowing the boarder and that a wall was actually needed.

Maybe the republicans and conservatives don't want a wall at all, maybe they just want to keep foreign laborers in legal limbo, so they don't vote or organize. You don't have to pay or treat undocumented and illegals well, when you employ them at your golf resorts, hotels, farms and plantations. I figure, this is not so much about protecting American jobs, but rather about protecting American employers from the threat of organized labor.

Agreed, comrade. A wall is pointless because changing people's hearts and minds is the only way to stop illegal immigration. Laws are pointless 'cause people will break them if they really want to.

* People on the other side of the border generally come here for a better life, to escape poverty, danger and chase opportunity.
* A few hundred years ago, the people who founded the United States as we know it came for the same exact things.

So where is the arbitrary timeline we are setting? Who sets this timeline of when people are allowed in? Genuinely interested in the thinking behind those who are for the wall. Border security is important, but if that's your primary concern, why aren't you for a wall on the borders of Canada? If illegal immigration is the actual issue, then that's one thing and lets remain consistent in our treatment of all illegals. If it's something else, just be upfront about it.

There is a reason why the focus of this administration regarding immigration is on the southern border and not airports. Can't risk catching those blond-hair, blue-eyed individuals who routinely lie at those ports of entry about the nature of their visit, work under the table in hip restaurants where their accent gets them fat tips, and overstay their visa. If we were to summarize this administration in one word, it would be hypocrisy.
