You need to be practically be braindead for an incompetence defense, knowing virtually nothing about any laws.
Tough argument to make when you're serving as a lawyer for the president and used to be the SDNY US Attorney.
I guess you could support the practically braindead part but he still knows enough about the law, mainly to break it.
Maybe he's going for an insanity defense, clearly he's not all there in the head.
