***Official Political Discussion Thread***

imagine if Cuomo had been called "straight white male" by the heckler.
What I find funny is how these Soi Boys and their Bots are putting up all these ads on NT. I can't see posts by Dwalk and whywesteppin whywesteppin but I can see conjecture and innuendo from Rusty, Rex and Belgium. Let's just say that this is a Soros funded attack against Coal Gang but WE will not be defeated. We aren't racist. YOU ARE LIBS.
I know you can't see my posts aepps20 aepps20 because the libbie conjecture and innuendo echo chamber has exiled me but know this: I am always here with you, guiding you, side-by-side, against Kale Gang, every step of the way.

This reminds me of this idiot governor
S.C.'s Sanford makes it official, rejects $700 million stimulus.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford on Wednesday became the first governor to reject some of his state's share of President Barack Obama's economic stimulus money, spurning $700 million that he said would harm his state's residents in the long run.

This is why our Socialist Republic of California has homelessness. We end up with all the red state people with issues who cant get services in their state.

When other states send us their people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending us people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with them. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people

Let's just say the homeless people i see in the Bay Area are not wearing Soccer jerseys or Mexican cowboy boots.

What a great time for someone to be unilaterally waging a trade war against a variety of countries all at the same time.

(Very lengthy article with more details)
Shrinking German economy 'on edge of recession' as exports stutter
Slumping exports sent Germany’s economy into reverse in the second quarter, with prospects of an early recovery slim as its manufacturers struggle at the sharp end of a global slowdown amplified by tariff conflicts and fallout from Brexit.

Overall output fell 0.1% quarter-on-quarter, data showed on Wednesday. With pressure growing on a thus far reluctant government to provide more fiscal stimulus, the economy minister said action was needed to prevent a second consecutive quarter of contraction that would tip the country into recession.

The global slowdown, reinforced by Chinese industrial output expanding at its lowest rates in 17 years in July, has broadly impacted the euro zone, where corresponding data showed second quarter growth halved to 0.2%.

While their might be some validity to your argument, but not every WaPo writer is a millionaire trying to defend Bezos. If a junior writer Wonkblog points out the Stop Bezos Act was poorly written, I don't think they should be dismissed on your criteria.

Also to explore where the line is:
So say if say someone like Krugman, or Ezra Klein points out the flaws in Sanders economic plans, they should be dissed because they are rich liberals. Even though they make a sound argument? Or if rich liberals like Adam Sewer and Coates call him out for his absolving voters motivated by racism, do you assume those are being mad in bad faith too?

Because seems you, like many Sanders supporters, shoot the messenger once it is coming from a particular source, and only accept narrow criticism from messengers you find acceptable.

A lot of it breaks down along the lines of whether or not you see Bernie as an imperfect vessel to bring about a broader movement centered on multi racial coalitions of workers or if you don’t like Sanders because he represents a threat to your material class interests.

Te-Nahisi Coates belongs to the former group and the panelists on MSNBC, who dismissed the idea that Bezos had any influence on the WaPo’s coverage or editorial decisions, clearly belong to the latter group.

Krugman falls in an intermediate category in that he is a good class traitor but he is clearly a reformist liberal who has antipathy to mass movement, revolutionary politics.

I don’t know much about Serwer but I like his articles whenever I read them.

Also, I defined the non media group whom I trust too narrowly. You don’t have to be a hardcore activist for me to trust the sincerity and good faith of your takes, anyone deeply interested in the political process, who also understands that social injustice is real and caused by systems, counts as part of that non media group whom I take seriously.
