***Official Political Discussion Thread***

You're right we don't know, but (again as you all often tell me in discussions like this) we can look at what was done for the previous stimulus.

That was at 75k for individuals, doubled for households, and phased out after.

So if it is done the same way, the entire middle class would receive a stimulus payment based on your definition of the middle class.

Surely you don't think upper middle class or rich households (by your definition) need a stimulus check. Or do you?

I don't know if you can do math or read, but middle class is up to 100K. A payment for those households making 80K a year (not knowing if there is a phase out) would leave out 20 million wage earners in the middle class (those making 80-100k a year) or give them severely reduced payments.

Also, their poorly written plan is based on information that is a year or two years old in some cases as it’s based on old tax return filings. The plan also does not encompass individuals who made more than that amount who have subsequently lost their jobs and are one of the 30M people in America currently on unemployment.

Point is, being cheap with 20M people so you can hand out trillions upon trillions of dollars worth of free candy money to tons of businesses who don’t need it is ****ing stupid. It’s this mentality of privatizing gains and socializing losses that has created this wealth gap where 1% of Americans have 90% of America’s net worth. “Businesses” such as you stockX business and Mitch McConnells wife taking the assistance when their net worth is $25M is living proof how ridiculous some of these programs are. I will continue to rail in this program because it is rife with fraud and rich people who take money from it just because they can. Republicans have intentionally impeded any sort of oversight that was supposed to be in place with the program which is despicable and wasteful. Now that they have handed out $2T worth of these forgivable loans to tons of businesses who don’t need it, they now want to get cheap with people who potentially do.

It’s far worse than whatever they proclaim to be socialism because all it does is further the wealth divide in this country and you keep voting for it because they gave you $1k of assistance that you didn’t need further proving and perpetuating the point.

Washington Delks :pimp:

I already found shirts on Google :nerd:

But there WAS a phase out the last time around. Again, you often tell me that we can look at what was done in the past to guess how it will work in the future.

But no point in going back and forth.

What do you think the threshold should be for stimulus payments?

Just make it the same as the last one. There is no reason to reduce it now when 30M people are on unemployment.

But truthfully I have no idea what the hell they are going to do because Mitch is basically taking the lead saying it has to be less than $1T. At what point does it matter when you have already given out Iike $3T is CARES Act funding plus $6T in federal reserve asset purchases/below market loans.

It's interesting to listen to the Republican base and their objection to Biden. The crime bill never comes up; instead, they tell us how bad he will be for business and how he will usher socialism. Mention Biden among them, and suddenly, we are living through the best economic times ever in the history of the US.

I bring up the Crime bill all the time

That’s because the crime bill doesn’t disproportionately affect republican voters

Voting for Ye or Trump should ban you from COVID vaccination

There is a large intersection of a Trump voters who don’t believe in vaccinations anyways so they are good on that.

So, chance thinks Ye is a legitimate candidate to run the country?! Crazy times we’re in.....
