Too be bad she decided to become a public figure after Charlie's death. Even though calling someone "stupid as..." isn't defamation under any circumstances, being a public figure has opened the door to a lot more criticism and vitriol that she absolutely will consider to be defamation. That's all she has left now: threats and frivolous lawsuits.

If it is, exhibit 25833674 on why Anti-SLAPP laws should be universal.
Even some egregious insults are sometimes dismissed depending on how they’re stated and who it’s directed at.
Also why is this the first thing that pops up in my search suggestions
I was trying to remember a case I read where calling someone a pedophile was dismissed as opinionated hyperbole. For the most part you’re cooked if you try the pedophile insult but it’s all about how you phrase it. The case I was trying to look for phrased it in a more joking manner than a statement of fact.
