Me and my lady finally been leaving our dogs out when we leave somewhere or go to work.. and they've been excellent I think only one accident but that was because we were gone pretty long

I just adopted a dog, dachshund lab mix. I'll post pics tomorrow.
Few questions: do you guys let the dogs sleep with you and or get on the couch? I bought him a comfy pet pillow that he loves but he always wants to sit underneath me. I don't allow him on the couch/ bed tho.
