OFFICIAL QUANTUM OF SOLACE POST VOL. MOVIE OF THE YEAR?

Talk about a letdown. Movie was way too short. Plot and story just wasn't as sharp as Casino Royale. Fell prey to previous Bond films where there was toomuch emphasis on action, not enough on substance.

Daniel Craig is still a great Bond though. Homage to Goldfinger was a nice surprise. Really, all the characters in the film were just playing their roles well, but they didn't tell much of a story.

Hopefully Craig returns.

6.5/10

face. Good movie but nothing compared to Casino Royale. Not Craig Daniels fault at all, he is still top 3 Bonds EVER. It was just not a well written script. Plus the fact that it didn't have that scary bad guy image in it like all the other Bond flicks, Still well worth checking out.

And to the people who fell asleep on this, I ask 1 question..... HOW? It had a chase scene every other act which was its downfall.
Its not that big a deal, but it made me laugh.

Yeah i peeped that when he was raping the MAID, but that $$!% was a blur. The movie itself was a little disappointing to me, it was rather shortand it had a boring feeling at times even though it had a interesting plot. Overall i give it a generous 7/10

This Bond to me had the best action of any other one. The plot was weaker than Casino Royale, but it left me with a sense that this "new" Bond isreally just beginning with the introduction of a global secret villain organization.

Movie was very good.....Great looking women....Great action.... AND MY MAN BOND CAN DRESS HIS ++% OFF

Just got back from seeing this...

my thoughts:

Too much action
Casino Royale >>
needed more of the red head girl
ending was ok

Obviously Casino Royale was a better movie, but it doesn't stop Quantum of Solace from being a very good one. Just because it doesn't quite live up tothe first doesn't mean that much. It's still better than most recent Bond movies; other than The Dark Knight, it's better than a lot of movies thisyear.

I love the way they still keep the Bond flavor without going into outrageous territory. They have high-tech gadgets, but not outlandish ones. They have Bond dosuave moves, but not impossibly dumb ones. They cut out the cliches, made it more serious, and it's better for it.

I also like the way they play around with some of the Bond conventions, like they did with Bond shooting the camera in Casino Royale. The way they use it inthis one marks a transition, which is pretty cool.

The plot was OK, but the action is the main focus - much more than CS. The plot was a little thin once you take out the useless stuff, such as the Bondgirl's revenge story. It was there to mirror Bond's story, but they gave it a little too much attention I think. But it was serviceable, and hopefullythey handle the big-bad-organization story well with the next one.

Now that Bond's character is more badass and losing his depth in the transition to the one we know, there should be more

, badass action in place ofthe personal moments. This movie had a few, but it needed more for it to have kept pace with CS. The next movie should have more.

Overall, I agree with the consensus. 8/10

I would give this movie a 3/10.
I was bored the whole time. Plot sucked. All the action was cut and pasted from a Bourne movie. The movie lacked fun. All the chase scenes felt forced. Theplot was weak. There were persistent political jibes invovlving the US and Global Warming. I mean come on, the bad guy was stealing WATER. Where is the classicreally unlikeable, kooky, greedy supervillain? Dominic was just a creepy community college teacher.
I would say that the producers or whomever just wanted to see if they could make as bad of a sequel as Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

yeah, people i saw the movie with agreed. very well tailored suits and coats. definitely noted when i finally ante up for a more upscale wardrobe (suits wise)
Craig wears a lot of Tom Forde stuff, both onscreen and off. Very well-designed stuff, and well-tailored to boot.

i agree with everything you said especially this point. The james bond theme isnt even really there during the film only in little hints. I only hope when theyintroduce Q he wont be giving him outlandish ones but will stay within the realm of reality.Hopefully they throw in Moneypenny in the next one too

Agreed 100%

Although Quantum of Solace has one huge edge on Casino Royale....The Scenery/Imagery.

For instance..The black/white hotel in Bolivia with Fields covered in oil in the background. That was beautifully done.

The movie also had a earth, wind, water, and fire theme to it. Pretty cool how they pulled that off.
