Yea the said they will pick up the option. That means this season he plays on a reasonable salary, next his salary is like 15MM.

They cant pay $40MM for two WR next year, somebody has to go. Better off trading him in the offseason if we know he won’t be staying

they’ll exercise the option and keep both for 2 years they’re an electric set of options at WR and keep the window for another playoff run from an offense perspective regardless of who of the 9er QBs is under center

Then probably extend and flip deebo or let him walk if he’s asking too much. Sad as it is he’ll probably be pretty banged up in 2 years and Ayuks the younger guy who also plays more traditional wr and will probably have less wear by 2025

With all of that said...........Our Super Bowl window is closing!!!

We need to do whatever we need to so we can get over the hump in the next 2 years. After that, it will take alot of strategy and late draft wins to keep up with the rest of the league.

I actually would actually argue the Super Bowl window has opened more than it is closing

2017-2022 we had a couple windows to win with jimmy g

Theoretically with trey lance a big ?????? And the Jimmy G era now officially over We should be in the beginning of a rebuild

But with Brock Purdy seeming a suitable starter (and actually a winner) , on an unbelievably cheap contract, that lasts for years, we actually have another window opening right after the last one closed a few months ago

Then consider how at skill position the team has really only gotten better, you already have deebo ayuk kittle juice and then the addition of superstar CMC , the big worry is that O line tho

But I’d argue the team might be in a better window now than they have been the past 6 years because the offense is as good as ever, if not better, and they’re not hamstrung by a massive veteran QB contract

Jimmy g era ending without a ring and trey lance going down early last season should have spelled doom for this team, instead we made it to NFCCG on the back of pick 272, nobody saw that coming

Only thing that would bring this team back down to earth is if trey and Brock don’t/can’t come back from these injuries , then we’re back to square one and have to rebuild

Deebo hasnt been coached to pick up blocks or to run hot routes like a running back.
