A 30+ year old man posted this

Famb, da hell you talking about. Your post from Friday is on the same page. You ok my dude?

oohhhhh, see I dont use NT on the weekend, only when Im at work.

When I saw it Friday evening I said to myself let me post it on NT and see what they gonna say, completely forgot that I posted it Friday evening, so this morning I posted it thinking I didnt. Got it, my bad

trolls I see, trolls.

When I saw it on his FB, I chuckled a bit and knew yall were gonna eat it up in here, but damn yall taking it a little too far

as the other dude said previous, I think @jaypizzle this is all a big joke to you dudes, I have said it before I can tell a lot of you guys in here are just regular black dudes who really dont care about the improvement or improving the overall lives of the black race, but instead coming in here to make jokes that you can all add rolling laughs emojis too.

ehhh i wouldn’t say that, I can speak for myself that I want to see the advancement of the black community. I just don’t think Umar is the end all be all of black advancement. I think that’s something you and I can agree to disagree on.

I agree, he isnt the end all be all on it, but is there anywhere else on NT to discuss these issues exactly?

The Black culture thread is somewhat related, but not really

The political thread is for politcs at large in America.

What is more frustrating, is that this thread is pretty much a joke machine and brings out the trolls instead of talking substantive issues. Thats all im saying

well to be fair Umar has been giving empty promises for a minute and you do ride for him. Cats gonna treat you the same way for beasting over umar the same way we treat cats for beasting over trump in the politics thread. Until Umar opens the school (which i dont think will ever happen) people are gonna be roasting you.

Im not beasting over Umar, I love the things he been saying and his lectures on Breakfast Club, Roland Show, and all his other appearances have really opened the eyes to a lot of black people how dire are issues are not only in America, but the world. As I said, I will give him the benefit of the doubt until the school is open. That's all

Just remember also, $500k isnt enough to open a school, especially a private school with no backing from the state or large corporate sponsors.

I dont know why this whole thread is a "roast layziegunts because he really wants Umar to succeed"

edit: but as I said, maybe I shouldn't take Niketalk seriously, I usually just come on here to read MCU news, updates on wrestling and look at soccer and basketball jerseys, maybe I should find another forum that would talk this issue seriously

i think a better forum for talking about these issues orobably wouldn’t be on the internet

What’s stopping you from starting a “black issues” thread, or a “official panafrican thread”? Our discussions for uplifting the diaspara doesn’t have to revolve around Umar Johnson. Don’t get it twisted, just because we don’t take umar seriously doesn’t mean we don’t care about uplifting the black community. Intellectual and meaningful conversations happen all over NT, just come with facts and let the discussions begin.

Beat me to it. I appreciate Layzie's passion for addressing black issues but Umar is a meme and he ain't it by a long shot. I currently live around the corner where he grew up and all I can say is that the stories around this guy are crazy and unfortunate.

I support a black issues thread where we can discuss practical black issues and how to address them.

Umar's school was a pipe dream. A practical solution would be black people mentoring black people in various ways that have already been proven to work in many communities. Many people are actually doing the work that Umar is talking about on practical level but they just aren't screaming in microphones and finessing people out of money. Hell Niketalkers can even get together to support the black youth if we really wanted to and organize on this platform. We don't need Umar or any other entertainer to make that change.

I like Umar. I can listen to someone even if he's wrong sometimes. Unfortunately he tainted his image with the school.

The school never was going to open and never had a shot to begin with. The saddest thing is his followers don't know how much it cost to build a school if they continuously expect it to happen

For one, 1 million or however much he was asking for was never gonna be enough. To even begin, you have to understand the cost of the land needed per square foot. With that, you have to consider how many students will be attending.
He also wanted it to be a boarding school. That means you need electrcitiy, air and the likes to be operating at all times. That cost bread. Not even to mention the staff he will need.

It wasn't going to happen to begin with because the school of his vision cost bread. I don't know if he charges to lecture but I doubt that's bringing in much. He doesn't have any businesses that I know of to bring in any serious money. Bottom line is it was never gonna happen. It's best if he downgrades his vision into something smaller.

Take dude here. He's doing it the right way. Multiple ways of income and he actually has **** going

this was from the other thread.

I love this quote 'you cant talk black, and sleep white"
Bull.
The problem is that if you consider what and then who is actually Black, or who is supporting your freedom, they may not look like you.
You go to war with Clarence Thomas if you want to. I am going to war with John Brown on my side.

Here is a letter from Frederick Douglass to Harriet Tubman, which mentions Brown...

When a biography of Tubman, referred to as the “Moses of Her People,” was written in 1868, Tubman asked Douglass for an endorsement. One very important aspect she pointed out to Douglass was that “she never lost a single passenger” on her trips. Douglass replied with the following remarkable letter below:

Dear Harriet:

I am glad to know that the story of your eventful life has been written by a kind lady and that the same is soon to be published. You ask for what you do not need when you call upon me for a word of commendation. I need such words from you far more than you can need them from me, especially where your superior labors and devotion to the cause of the lately enslaved of our land are known as I know them. The difference between us is very marked. Most that I have done and suffered in the service of our cause has been in public, and I have received much encouragement at every step of the way. You, on the other hand, have labored in a private way. I have wrought in the day – you in the night. I have had the applause of the crowd and the satisfaction that comes of being approved by the multitude, while the most that you have done has been witnessed by a few trembling, scarred, and foot-sore bondmen and women, whom you have led out of the house of bondage, and whose heartfelt, “God bless you,” has been your only reward. The midnight sky and the silent stars have been the witnesses of your devotion to freedom and of your heroism. Excepting John Brown – of sacred memory – I know of no one who has willingly encountered more perils and hardships to serve our enslaved people than you have. Much that you have done would seem improbable to those who do not know you as I know you. It is to me a great pleasure and a great privilege to bear testimony for your character and your works and to say to those to whom you may come, that I regard you in every way truthful and trustworthy.

Fighting for freedom is complicated, especially in this world where you have traders who look like you. Allies like Brown are needed, and welcomed by me.

Understanding that people are indeed cloaked, gives you the edge that others are not aware of. You look to your left to see Clarence Thomas and then getting comfortable, you've already lost. You should not go looking to them for help, that is true. However, seeing who is willing to die for what is right, is the true measure of worthiness.

e aren't many John Browns

Allowing outside allies allow for infiltration and fake friendship

Thank you!!!

Never look to white folks (or any other groups of folks) to help with black liberation they have their own agenda. They may sympathize with you, but they are never fully with you.

Of course we should be wary of the Clarence Thomas types as always and they should be called out, but then saying as a response "we should find white folks to join our battle (or any other person not black) is a BIG MISTAKE

If you constantly look for Black people to be on your side, the same can happen, most likely WILL happen to be honest.
Black people with an agenda, like Johnson, do not want freedom for all Black people, he seems to only want freedom for Black men.

Black women need to be freed first.

He wants freedom for black men first because they are the leaders of the black household? you ever thought about that?

and I dont think Umar is only for black men, he is for the black family. Man, woman, and child. I agree with him

When you focus too much on trying to "free black women" then you start going into feminism territory and I ain't with it.

To have freedom to simply place your foot upon a woman's throat isn't freedom, it is oppression.
Men like Johnson, and correct me if I am wrong, want the freedom to control how Black women, should think and behave.
Free will means exactly that, free will. And when you treat women like a pet, you are only placing yourself at a disadvantage. She is no longer your ally, she will be spending her time trying to find a way to get away from you, or finding a way to upset the apple cart. She will be trying to figure out how much she has to give, in order to get what she wants.
If a woman is free in a relationship, she then gets to choose who she can be loyal to, just like a man does.
Many insecure men are afraid of that. They may not get chosen.
