Dr. Umar Johnson says “Every Black church in America has their money in a white bank.” Maybe not ‘every’ but most. Does your church deposit money in a white bank or black bank?
Imagine if the majority of Black churches decided to deposit their money in Black banking institutions. Imagine if ministers and preachers encouraged their congregation to put their money in a Black bank. Whew. That would be a true game changer for our community.

The one thing that will forever taint Umars image when it comes to this school is the lack of transparency. There’s no excuse for that.
Oh well, at the very least we can hope the money he took from all these people is in a One United bank account.

It's crazy how people can trust a preacher with their hard earned money with little to nothing to show for it.
Just gathering up money from people, using their faith and desperation for a better life as a tool to squeeze some money out of them only to not produce anything promised.
And all they have to offer is more empty promises with no desire to at least reveal what where the money went.
The worst part is you have people who buy completely into the story. "It's all for the greater good" and stuff just some real concerning levels of ride or die

It’s important to note that many black Christian churches subscribe to tithing as a biblical requirement not simply because they’re being hustled by a creffro dollar. Personally, as a christian myself, I don’t think tithing is just restricted to giving money to the church but that’s just me

youre gonna have to reconcile with the fact that their are conscious black People out there that have higher standards for their leaders and teachers. You can minimize the fact that that he took that money for reasons other than what he claimed he was gonna use it for whether it bank rolled his world tour or not. That’s your perogative. But understand that that’s a hard contradiction to swallow for someone that they should be going tonfor the truth. their are plenty of black People who don’t need to shackle their consciousness or support for the black community to Umar Johnson and refuse to do so. And there’s nothing wrong with that either.

You’re leaving out the fact that he raised $750k to one a school for black kids that hasn’t opened. And not only that he’s been less than transparent about a plan, what the plans for the money is going, or even what’s been done up until this point. Even if you have no issues with Umar as a person, objectively speaking, you’re asking people to just accept it and follow suit? Based on what? How are black people supposed to tell the difference between the real deal and the snake oil salesmen? Honest question. You throw so much shade at black churches but what’s the difference between what’s going on with them and what you’re pushing? Aside from the fact that you agree with umars message
