Umar says a lot of stuff I agree with. Especially about some of the glaring issues in our community. But out of all the things I’ve listened to from interviews to his own monologues, he’s never said anything that was true that I haven’t heard from somewhere else or couldn’t come to myself. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what information Umar has exclusive distribution rights too that I have accept or ignore all of the lies and disinformation and toxic behavior in order to get access to it.

I listed some of the policies that will help black people. Instead of looking at policies and making a decision on those, you want to use a sound bite on how Booker didn't answer a question to your liking. How is not hustling backwards. So if Trump says he is Pro-black, you down?

Also, you throw out all kinds of insults at people you disagree with, but now you want to take issue when I make a joke/jab? Don't ask for a level of civility you have never once tried to hold yourself to.

I am not against Corey Booker, of all the Democratic candidates that throw in their hat so far I would vote for him, HOWEVER when he was questioned on that interview by Charlemagne he couldn't give anything clear about what he will do specifically for black people and im not a fan of that. Umar preys on low information people. Because if folk watched documentaries, read books, listen to podcasts, read white papers, when to lectures from researchers, and engaged activism, volunteer, then would soon realize that they are tons of ways to educate yourself in a positive manner.

This is why Umar needs to smear as many people as he does. If he allows his audience to be seriously intellectually curious, he would lose a ton of supporters.

This is exactly how political strategy works. As much as I would love for a candidate to be unapologetically problack on the political main stage, we know how that will go in today’s climate. That said, policy doesn’t have to be labeled as black only to have an overwhelmingly beneficial outcome on the black community. This is why as a conscious black person you can’t ignore politics and you have to be strategic about who you put your support behind.

The black message resonates with me but the intellectual in me can’t ignore the fact that someone who is supposed to be an educator, scholar, and leader says things to his following that are patently false.
