Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

yeah i turned it off maybe 20 minutes later. when ted tells mila it's all his fault and he'll go away. felt too predictable and formulaic at that point to move forward.

I hear you, the 1st 2/3rds of the movie are its strength, but they actually do throw a bit of a twist in toward the end when Giovanni Ribisi's character comes back. Maybe check it out at some point.
Interesting. Ill finish it eventually. I liked the concept of the talking bear a lot and it was funny the first 2/3rds. I just dislike the lull you get when you have this type of relationship movie.

Apparently FX is going to have a comedy centric channel called FXX

It's always sunny and the league were picked up for another season plus legit, which is a good show that went under the radar for the most part

Yeah, Fox lost the English Premier League so they're turning their former soccer channel into a comedy channel. Gotta have somewhere to put all of those Anger Management episodes.

Haven't seen it yet, but the Fruitvale director is 27, and that was his first full-length? :eek :smokin

Yup. :smokin

I know NT has hard critics, but I don't think any real movie buff could be disappointed with this film.
It was a weird feeling knowing I was on bart so often throughout my childhood, and even weirder knowing that I passed and stopped by Fruitvale so often with my family.

Crooger did such an amazing job capturing the essence of the Bay Area.
The acting was so genuine, the lingo, the words, the facial expressions, the clothing, the environment.
Everything just so genuine.

Just made me feel so differently about life leaving the movie theater. Something kinda unexplainable.
I wish i could put it into words, but it really does put everything into a different perspective.
I mean that in a good way.
Such an amazing job depicting such a tragic and sad event.

You gotta see it.
It's just too real. |I

Is the channel up yet? I'd expect they'd have reruns of shows airing right now before the new stuff and premiere season.

Still wonder why they couldn't just call it FX2.

You know the things about her you like? I feel the opposite. I can't recall seeing one of her movies and saying "Only she could have done that" so she seems very replaceable for one and that's also because I don't think she's a great actress.

And while it's not her fault, I thought it was ridiculous she won an Oscar for having a bad accent and saving a black football player.

bullock and clooney = automatic pass on that movie

Buddy of mine was a camera loader for Fruitvale. Said it was gonna be great after filming glad the consensus thinks so as well. Will watch eventually.

Kev, I know you like him too, you might want to check this out.

Man, this kids future is BRIGHT. Wish nothin but the best for him. I hope hollywood starts throwing work at him nonstop.

Funny to me that I know him first thru FNL, then Wire. But that's just the order that I watched the shows. I'm so backwards. :lol
I'd much prefer him getting the push than everybody on that Anthony Mackie train.

Just watching Watchmen. I really like this film

It's hard to love that movie if you read the book.

The Villian was some of the worst casting I've ever seen. Hated a good amount of the music choices. Too on the nose. Ending was different. Didn't have the same sense of inevitable doom. That's the biggest difference.

But the look was perfect. And so was Rorschach. And dr manhattan. It had its wonderful moments.

It should have always been a mini series. It needs about 12 hours.

Dub, please explain how that flick is about serial killers but actually about architecture :lol

it's a book. dicaprio bought the rights supposedly

its about the chicago worlds fair. goes into detail on the architecture, choosing the location, the landscape, inferiority complex regarding NYC, comparing and contrasting architecture stylings

and then the other half is about a serial killer who also happened to rent out rooms during the fair. and also attended it one day.

they really have little to do with each other.

that movie has a 20 percent shot of being amazing. very difficult to put to the screen and i have a terrible feeling they are gonna take alot of leeway in what is essentially true stories using letters, quotes, newspapers

A mini series would have been awesome! Only downside is the production might have not been as good.
