Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I don’t know who this guy is but I like him already
He’s been in a ton of stuff. Some notable roles off the top of my head:

Original screen Hannibal Lecter (Manhunter, 1984)

Uncle Argyle in Braveheart.

General Stryker in the X-2: X-Men United.

Captain O’Hagan in Super Troopers and Super Troopers 2.

But most recently, and what he’s probably now best known for, is being the patriarch character in the HBO series Succession.

I love Get Rich or Die Tryin, cast was great and the movie was funny. I still remember seeing that **** in the theater and everyone was hype. Movie is underrated, I guess cause he’s a rapper but he was solid.

About to start Four Brothers now, haven’t seen it in a minute and this was my ****.

Like I said before, first half was good, second half was complete ****. **** this movie but Bateman was great.

Oh, that’s awesome. Thank you for telling me this. I appreciate it!

Does anyone else really respect the hard work that the everyone puts into making shows and movies that we enjoy? Just thinking about it is crazy to me
I definitely do, driven in big part by the fact that I have extended family members and neighbors who have various behind-the-camera jobs and they work really hard and don’t get paid a ton. So many working class folks that contribute to the content we get. Much appreciated.

I work in logistics and deal with so much push and pull tryin to get things done that are every day things and deal with unreal stupidity and push back on a daily basis.

Coordinating A FREAKING MOVIE or TV Show, building boats, or cities, or finding cars, clothes, food, makeup, attitudes, drama, computer graphics, writers, edits, producers, bosses, extras.......

I can not fathom. I can't barely stomach what I deal with, I can't imagine that times a thousand. :lol

I got friends in the industry and the work sounds like hell. All the respect to those people.

Bruh my cousin is a working actor in Hollywood. He told me he did over 300 auditions for roles this year and got only a few commercials and some tiny bit parts in unknown movies that paid. But he’s like the talk of the town and considered one of the most hire-able guys in the industry right now.

He told me if he tried to live on just his acting money alone, he would be homeless living on the street begging for food and money. He can only survive because he’s also a very successful graphic design business owner. Really puts it into perspective how hard it is for the majority of people in the industry.

Sometimes i'll watch the behind the scenes of even ones that aren't well recieved an1q¹d just be in awe of how it all comes together.
This is probably the biggest thing that I miss with the death of home media in favor of streaming :lol :{

Used to watch all the extras we used to get on DVD's/blu ray from behind the scenes stuff, blooper reels to actor/director commentaries.

All that stuff really put into perspective just how big of an endeavor a production is and all the moving parts and people required to get to the finished product we see on the screen.

Ton of work but also usually looks like a lot of fun in the process :lol

In, based on cast only.

Yes, that part I can guess. But I wonder if we doin one season, or multiple seasons, are they gonna lead it right up to OG Dex S1, or any other type of surprise.

It's the Resurrection piece I'm intrigued by. Looks like they plan on bringin him back for real. Wonder what for.

While not the same, I have produced tv commercials and there are tons of logistics involved with that. Everything I’ve done and or worked on has been 1-2 day shoots. Budgeting and scheduling alone are a pain for 15-40 person sets. Post-production for 2 30 sec & 2 15 sec commercials was usually atleast a weeklong endeavor between getting client and creative approval. I also cannot fathom increasing that and everything else to movie production scale
