thought the Odyssey was amazing. loved the way the story was told and thought the creative license he took on some aspects of the story did not take away from the story at all. killed the themes of disguises and pride and guilt. Matt Damon, John Leguazam, Samantha Morton, and Anne were amazing. the scene with Circe...incredible. my only minor beef is casting Tom Holland as Telemachus...thought that was probably the only miss
From what I remember from being taught The Odyssey in highschool, there’s really not that much creative licensing in the movie at all.
The cyclops scenario is completely different but other than that it more or less plays out the same as far as I remember.

Tried to watch Maters of the Universe last night. Couldn't get into it; just didn't click for me, which I was bummed about because the He-Man cartoon was one of my favorities as a kid.

Watched Inside Out 2 instead. It was good and well done. Got me in the feels a little during the climax.

millenial nostalgia is def making people overrate this movie.

but it has a couple scenes that are like 100x better than youd see in the average kids movie.

All the David Cross Jay Mohr scenes and Dennis Leary chewing scenery are awesome
Robert Picardo x-1000 scene as the scientist.

I watched MOTU last night also and enjoyed it quite a bit. Was definitely a lotta Easter eggs and was very campy which is what I wanted. Sad to say but Leto killed it as Skeletor.

It gets better when he becomes He-Man. But I wasn't really vibing with it either. Leto's Skeletor was perfect though.
