Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Up to the last episode of last season's Dexter

:{

What a waste. That twist with Tom hanks son being both guys was HORRIBLE. Some soap opera ****. I had to struggle hard to get through this. I heard the last episode is great so at least I have that to look forward too. But yeesh. Worst season by far. And I liked the one with Julia styles

:{

On the Road....wow...um...it's like they made a movie with all the actors that make you roll your eyes when you hear their names. Kristen Stewart. Kirsten Dunst. The kid from Tron. Peggy from Mad Men (hated since WW). Alice Braga (moviekiller). Terence...Howard.

What if? What if you had an entire movie filled with the wrong guys. Not the Expendables, but the Undesirables? The Understudies? The Casting Call Rejects? This is a movie filled with all the people you hear might get casted in something you're looking forward to and you just think..."that's really the best they could get?" You can see the real movie this could've been, but it needed a young James Dean and young Brando and got their stand-ins.

It's bland. Bland all around. And it's not that it's a bad movie. It's got gorgeous cinematography, but it feels like someone literally tried to film a journal in the most basic, emotion-deaf way possible. And that'd be cool if we were following some hero's journey or something, but it's Bland #1, Bland #2 and Bland #3. And all they do is mumble every sentence and piece of dialogue with mild homoerotic undertones. It's just a bunch of hipster kids playing dress up and making out on film.

It's just there. Beautiful shots wasted on a script with no words and actors with no charisma. The way they play music over people talking convinces you that nothing they say means anything. It made me want to read the book, because I'm pretty sure that'd be less boring?

Kristen Stewart actually wasn't bad...in that she doesn't say or do much, played herself and showed her ******* constantly.

Also I think Peggy from Mad Men's career is over when Mad Men is.

Oh and I feel bad for Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi and Viggo Mortensen...they each make a cameo and I think they thought they were in a real movie. :{

6/10

8o Kirsten Stewart has *******? I never noticed. However, despite my curiosity about that, based on what else you said about that movie, I don't think I'm likely to check it out.

Who else is about to spend a **** load of money on blu rays tonight/tomorrow :lol :{

Easily 300+ in next few days.

Really looking forward to getting Bond 50 for 110, and Indy for 30.

Then The Dark Knight Rises in two weeks. :{

Happy Thanksgiving to all the NT S+T crew, hope yall take it easy. :hat

:lol Yea, that weebey'd me. It's a sorta pointless, kinda aimless, pretty charmless, mute movie but it's not...unwatchable? :lol

You could at least skim through to the parts she's in.

Happy turkey day yall.

Man... I just watched Safety Not Guaranteed and I loved it.

Aubrey Plaza was charming and funny, great to see her do well outside of Parks. Jake Johnson was really good, and Mark Duplass was just crazy yet sincere enough to work. One of my favorites of the year.

That dude is Tom Hanks's son? His acting leaves much to be desired now that I know that. Before he was just one of the many middle of the pack actors that you recognize but don't have much to say about.

Still havent watched Safety Not Guaranteed, and that was one of my more anticipated movies this year :{ :{ But, hell, I just watch Avengers for the first time tonight. Didnt meet my expectations, but I enjoyed it for what it is. NB4 **** storm for not seeing it til now.

Same. I was gonna watching Seeking a Friend and this back to back, but Seeking put me off so much, I bailed. :{ :lol
Guess I should I check it out.

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist was on. I think retroactively don't like it, because Michael Cera.

But Kat Dennings' friend's name is Caroline in this, and if you squint, I feel like I see where 2 Broke Girls came from. 8o :lol

Saw Skyfall

Long story short, it was amazing. I loved the take on Bond, the villain, the cinematography, the action, the women, everything. It absolutely delivered and met all my expectations.

Skyfall was awesome J, glad you liked it.

Ugh, $200 bucks later Black Friday takes me again. 17 blu rays and the final 3 seasons of Friday Night Lights. I need literally none of them. :lol

Oblivious or he doesn't care. One of the two.

Or, he's oblivious because he doesn't care. Whatever it is, I can't remember the last time he posted anything indicating he actually reads what else goes on in here. It all good though.

I think he just has bookmarks of threads to spam and doesn't even check last post or anything.

That House of Cards trailer looked :eek :smokin
Spacey's affect is sorta >D, but I got full faith in Fincher.
