Eh, I guess in a year that was very bad for NFL picking Peyton Manning for MVP was a safe bet.

Exactly how I feel.
I can't sit here and say anybody REALLY deserved the MVP award this season, but somebody has to win it.

SOOOOOOO.... Zero running game' Harrison less than 90% for the season, Dallas Clark and Gonzales banged up Losing Bob Sanders and parts of the D for a goodstretch of the season 2nd toughest schedule and oh by the way recovering from a 3-4 start to win 12 games Should have gotten MORE votes... lol

5 weeks ago i was sure Kurt Warner was going to win the MVP award, after the Cards kind of fell apart i had no idea who was going to win it and i kinda ofthought Adrian Peterson was going to take it.
Didnt really even think of Peyton this year, but the 9 game winning streak after starting 3-4 is pretty impressive.

Rivers and Brees had better statistical seasons, but they didn't win as much. 8-8 doesn't cut it.
AP shouldn't win it either since he's been a fumbling machine.
Warner's team fell apart near the end of the season.
Chad and Turner are the only other people that perhaps deserved the award.

Sure the Colts would've won 2 games without Peyton, but where would the Chargers be without Rivers. Rivers was clutch all year long and had to win games byhimself a lot of the year. Sure the Chargers play in the worst division in football but they could've given up being 4-8 Rivers lead his team like Peytonbut Peyton had his defense win at least one game for him (against the Browns) while Rivers didn't have that. No doubt Peyton deserves it but you can'twrite off Rivers as a bum. I think Rivers might not have been snubbed by losing but by only having 2 votes and after the Pro Bowl snub he's going to comeout and beat the Colts tomorrow.

I feel you on Rivers being important to the Chargers but had it not been for a TOTAL meltdown by the Broncos... they wouldnt be in the playoffs... 8-8 recordis just that.....

I can only think of 3 games where Rivers was clutch, and that's the game against the Raiders in Oakland, and both games against the Chiefs.
Other than that, most of the games won were literal blowouts. Don't get me wrong though, he is far from a bum and put up tremendous stats this season. Hegot snubbed from the Pro Bowl but really, who gives a !@#$ about that popularity contest. The Pro Bowl is nothing but BS. The onlything that matters would be him making the First Team for the 2008 All Pro roster. And I have a strong feeling he will.

Peyton Manning is a top 5 QB of all time when done. Maybe even higher if he gets another few rings. A real joy to watch on Sundays, he deserved it. Greatfootball player, probably the smartest in the league.
