Eric Rowe traded to the Patriots for OL Josh Kline and a 4th rounder in 2018 that could become a 3rd.

looks like Schwartz knows what he wants in his guys. Rowe never really looked like he was given a chance though tbh. You're telling me CJ smith and Ron brooks have more upside than Rowe? This wasn't about talent, more about fit

#Culture #Scheme #Fit

As fun as it is to beat the Pats, this game was probably one of our flukiest wins in a while.  If I recall, Gronk and Edelman were out, and the Pats were playing with a pretty much makeshift o-line.

I'm not saying that Rowe is a bum, but I'm also not going to put stock in a game he played well in against a severely banged up Pats squad.

He had an up and down season as a starter. He was good that game but the Pats were playing without Gronk or Edelman. I was at that game and from what I remember the only player who was able to do any damage against us was their RB catching passes out of the backfield. So it's not like everyone else was getting cooked and Rowe had an amazing game to help us win.

He also had a solid game against the Bills, who had a similarly suspect receiving corps. Versus Arizona, NYG, and Washington he didn't fare as well. All teams with legitimate threats at receiver. And lets not forget Megatron legendarily cooking him in the first game he started . Although you can't really hold that against him.

you're looking at it the wrong way.. well, first cj is on the practice squad

think about in terms of trade value and role with the team (like when al harris was moved way back when)

based on what we have currently on the team I see our 1st and/or 2nd round picks in the next two drafts being between: CB, WR and/or T.. with the outside chance of RB (depending on who falls in the 1st in this upcoming draft because of how deep that position is with studs.. and 2nd is always a good spot of RBs)

we still need a no.1 cb.. we have 2 very good safeties.. and we have Nolan for that big WRs/TEs role.. so just look at rowe as getting value for a dude that was a 2nd-3rd CB at best or a starting S (which is roles we have)

brooks is a role guy and we should all hope cj smith develops so he too can be a cheap role guy

That Lions game was classic Bill Davis ..leave the oppositions best player single covered no matter what ..shades of Bradley Fletcher 1 on 1 with Dez :x

We desperately need to get younger at CB

nah.. fletch getting whupped by dex, Maxwell getting whupped by julio or cary Williams getting whupped.. hell even nnamdi getting worked

were all completely different then what went down with rowe vs calvin Johnson.. rowe was at least in position vs CJ.. you cant give none of those guys above that much credit

I agree. All 3 TD passes were absolutely perfect from Stafford (LOL). Slightly off target and the passes are either incomplete or intercepted.

only 2 of his TDs were vs rowe:

and in comparison to those guys.. this is glue coverage:

Our CBs were in a scheme under Chip/Davis where they were consistently on islands matches up 1 on 1. They were all bound to get torched

The CB prototype of what Chip and Billy Davis desired no longer relates to this team anymore, which was unfortunate for Rowe.
