Hue wasn't even that great of an HC :lol this team was heading to cap hell

Oh so Allen the wimp is better?

Hue won 8 games with a dying/dead owner, no QB till Carson got off his couch, and no Run DMC. I disliked DHB but Jackson made him serviceable. He made due with Jason Cambell and other mediocre players. Bush would have been a worse disaster then Run DMC ispn the zone scheme. Who did Allen lose that was so valuable?

I don't like Allen either. So hue is great because he won't 8 games. Tom Cable also won 8 the season before.

Forget Geno. Too many holes in this team to draft a polarizing QB.

Let that boy TP cook.

I liked Tom Cable too. What does that have to do with Hue? Cable and Hue > Allen aka Lame Kiffin 2.0

I never said Hue was great just that he was our best coach since Gruden...but now that I think about it yes he was a great coach.

If Hue showed more poise and tact when he was a leader then he could still have been the coach of this team. His play calling and vision were ideal for the franchise, but he didn't go about his future plans the right way. It's important to at least show humility and patience publicly, because once you start stepping on toes without discretion then you've made yourself available for removal and no one would question why.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Cullen Jenkins is set to visit the Raiders today.

Jenkins has been making the rounds visiting Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Giants. Schefter writes:

‘The 32-year-old clearly has something to offer a good team (there has been Packers speculation as well), but the Raiders aren’t as close to being good as the rest of those teams, so their inclusion speaks to the possibility that he’s not hearing the numbers he wants.’

Couldn't have said it better. I was a big Hue supporter (and Cable before that) but this is ultimately how I feel.

great coach?:lol

Lets not forget how badly the team collapsed the final 6-7 games of the season. Barely beat Chicago without Cutler, barely beat the Chiefs and got SHELLACKED by the Packers and Dolphins, lost a Lions game we were in the lead the entire time and got beat, at home, by the Chargers when we had control of our destiny.

No Hue Jackson was NOT a great head coach.

Good play caller. HORRIBLE "GM", and average head coach is about right.

@RNSCOM Raiders set to cut McClain next week, with start of new fiscal year, to spread out salary-cap hit over more seasons

And what has Reggie McKenzie done to warrant as much hate as he receives? He inherited a MESS. Horrible cap management, horrible player transactions. Just HORRIBLE front office period. By next year almost all the dead weight will be gone. Thats a HUGE turn around for a front office in just two years.

What should he have done? We had ZERO money to spend, and were strapped with contracts.

Some Raider fans crack me up man. If Al was still alive we'd have 10 players on the roster right now making 12 million a piece and thats it.

Good riddance. I'm not even donating my jersey to good will. Thats getting burned like McClain's career. What an utter piece of TRASH.

just gotta hope that it doesn't get a tiny hole in it otherwise it'll be rendered useless

Me as well. The more I see of shariff floyd the more I like. I think I'm leaning there especially since TK is likely gone, Seymour gone and no guarantee on DEZ.

yep, give that boy a few years when he has money to play with, so far IMO he's doing a good job. Also as for dennis allen i think dude doing good for what he has, he always have the guys playing hard so thats a plus ...

If it's true that Dennis hasn't implemented over half of his defensive schemes because he didn't have the personnel to execute it, you know that our players were sorry.

Raider fans like you kill me bro. Hue had the same players Allen had minus Dmac and a QB with no training camp and he won more games then Allen. Plus do you remember he didnt pick Breshnahan whose defense let teams score on us at an all time high. Hue was handicapped not just with his roster. Mark my words we will dread the day we hired Allen. He picked his coaches like no other Raider coach has had a chance to and fired them all after 1 year. Raiders deserve coaches will Swag like Chucky and Madden who did it their way with ego...not wimps like Allen.

The hate for Al Davis is strong. The hope and excuses for mckenzie are unbelievable...poor reggie this poor reggie that.
What makes people think this GM run team will not end up like the Browns, Jaguars, and Lions for the next 20 years?
Winning teams have over the top owners or coaches or atleast leaders with ego and quan.
Truth is Al got us 3 superbowls while 90% of GMs have 0 superbowls.
Coaches and GMs are everything in a talented league like the NFL. Stop blaming players all the time and hold our front office and clipboard accountable.

didn't you say that we were going to super bowl after we got Palmer? :lol ok

Same players?

Lets start there. We lost Wimbley. Not the greatest, but he was our best pass rusher. We lost Routt. Again, not the greatest, but judging by LAST year, he was our best CB. Seymour got another year older, and another year slower. Jason Campbell is a pro. He had the SAME playbook the year prior. It wasnt that big of deal of no training camp as far as thats concerned. He also had a healthy DMC the first 7 weeks in a scheme that fit him. You see what happened when we had to rely on Michael Bush? He was GASSED by week 13.

And lets not count all the injuries that plagued this team last year as well on defense. We almost had to get Darrell Green out of retirement to help us out in the secondary.

Defensive scheme? I agree with you here. Al' s man/man zero blitz philosophy simply didn't work anymore. But then you question why the hate on Al Davis? This is one of the reasons why. He failed to adapt to the new way of the NFL. He thought his scheme would eventually work. It didn't. Don't think that was all Breshnehan. That was classic Al Davis Defense from top to bottom. Breshnehan was just the fall guy.

I loved Al Davis, and for what he did for the league and the sport. He was a revolutionary. Unfortunately, father time caught up and the last 10 years his whole thought process has been atrocious. Outside of Nnam, and MAYBE DMC, we haven't had a successful 1st round draft pick. Thats ONE PLAYER in 10 years that has been drafted in the 1st by this org that is still on the team. (not counting McLame) Thats a terrible track record. Don't get me wrong, I still think Al had an eye for talent getting some studs towards the later rounds, but his 1st round successes were terrible and their cap numbers KILLED our books.

On to contracts. Al overpaid EVERYONE. Thats fine and all when you're winning, but when you're not, and those players aren't performing, again, it kills your cap and franchise. Javon Walker, DeAngelo Hall, Routt, Wimbley, Tommy Kelly, Randy Moss, Seymour, Gibril Wilson, Jamarcus Russell, etc etc etc. Those are FRANCHISE KILLER moves.

Hell the computers in the facility were over 10 years old. The whole place was a mess and it all stemmed from Al.

Reggie has had a year and a half now to fix decades of issues and people want his head? Its ridiculous. I'm a realist. This franchise is long overdue for this overhaul.

And no Dennis Allen didn't fire all of his coaches. He fired stupid Knapp and his lame O line staff. Knapp refused to adjust his playbook to fit our needs. Was it a bad hire? sure, should have never been in the ZBS in the first place, but I'm willing to see if he can redeem himself. Our special teams was a hold over and was terrible. I'm glad that guy is gone. Everyone else is pretty much the same.

Dude Al David was dead already when we lost several games at the end of the season. Teams on the last stretch were putting up over 30pts a game...that was all Breshnahan. If your going to blame Knapp for Allens 12 losses you got give some blame to Breshnahan for Hue's 8 losses. Al Davis was dead when we lost most of our games last season.
