Nothing surprising about DHB cut, it's been talked about for a long time. The Huff cut is more surprising to me, but not by much. Make that another need to address this off season.
Unfotunate to lose Wheeler to Miami. Guess he wanted to compete right away, certainly understandable.

Embrace the suck, guys. Evaluate the new talent that comes from the draft and free agency and get used to judging individuals. We're not going to be competitive for at least another two seasons.

Stop it dude...I know you love Reggie but Reggie for now hasn't shown anything with his pic for coach or additions to the roster. I could cut players and save money too if I was GM. You may be singing the same tune when we hire John Doe GM in 2015.
Mark must have hated his Dad (like some of these so called raider fans) to allow McKenzie to dismantle the team.
Odds are Raiders O.Co will not be 30% filled by week 4. Thank you Reggie.
Anyway glad my Dodgers and Lakers are interested in entertaining its fans and not following the McKenzie way a la Kansas Royals and Sacramento Kings.

I love Al Davis for what he did in the PAST. In the present, he made this team a mess. I don't see how you can't see that.
I'll ask the same question I asked on PSD. What were we SUPPOSED to do? Keep players like DHB, Huff, Seymour etc at ALL PRO salaries for less than mediocre production? How is that smart? Were we supposed to pay Wheeler and Bryant $60 million combined? How would that help us in the long run?
You don't keep players on your team that aren't performing. PERIOD. Thats typical Al Davis scholarships. How many years did we go through with 10 players on the roster that were freak athletes, but couldn't grasp the game of football to save their lives? They were "Al's guys" though and were given a pass.
I understand Al wanted to WIN NOW, but that attitude put this team in terrible shape. By next year that $32 million of dead money, guess what, becomes $32 million in CAP SPACE.
All of this couldn't have been done last year because we were even worse over the cap before Reggie even got his hands on the paperwork.
I love these guys that talk about how bad Reggie is, yet they don't give me suggestions on what could have been done better. There is no coach in the league that could have won with the "talent" on this roster. PERIOD. Bunch of underachieving, under producing wastes of space.

He's good, I like him. Can't say he's overpaid yet cause he hasn't been a starter yet.
I'm glad the Raiders didn't give him 30 mil though. We simply don't have it.

And for whoever asked. Rolando isnt cut yet for a few reasons.
1.) Reggie is trying to get a draft pick for him and for someone to take on the rest of his salary. He'll be gone for a bag of peanuts and a ham sandwich if someone takes his salary.
2.) If no trade can be made theres a chance he may wait until after June 1st. After June 1st the cap hit gets split into this year and next year so instead of $9 million or so this year, it'll be 4.5 this year and 4.5 next year.
I for one think he should just take the hit now so we have the full $9 million to work with next year.
Imagine a Raider team that goes into the season with over $50 million in cap space. That hasn't happened in... ever? Thats probably what we'll have next year.

There's also no need to make a move that the entire league sees coming. Rolando will be gone, no doubt about it. Just have to decide when and how.

Reggie is gauging trade value for Palmer, Rolando and Kelly. I figure if nothing gets figured by 2nd cuts they'll be dropped.

I don't expect anything major, if anybody we gonna look for 2nd or 3rd year players that been sitting on the bench with un-tap talent.

I expect that to be our approach this year. Find capable players who haven't been given an opportunity, utilize many rookies from the draft. Many free agents will be avoiding us this year. Next year should be different.
