Police Kill Unarmed Teen In Ferguson, Missouri

I agree but sometimes people don't know how to show frustration
And people tend to use looting as a way to relieve their frustration
I don't think it's a smart move
But I can understand

C'mon man, that's a cop out answer. They looted for personal gain.
Like I'm sure some intended to loot
But I'm sure others didn't intend to and just got caught in the moment

Stop with the goddamn This is going to make them view us BS.... They have viewed us that way from the start and it's not gonna stop by being calm and speaking it out.

You're absolutely right.  Let's instead steal from private businesses and destroy property that has nothing to do with "them".  That'll teach them a lesson and make everything all better then!

thanks captain obvious for stating that we're viewed a certain way...

so since that's the way **** is, let's just continue down that path....

let's keep teaching our kids that this is the way to handle things because a new approach won't work ... u know, cz **** will never change

lol... utter nonsense

a new approach is the reason why you're able to eat dinner in the same place as a white person in 2014

but you right, being calm and organized ain't never resolved nothing.... lol

Why are you acting like it's us in here looting? You're speaking for no reason at this point. All of us in here know looting is wrong.

"I will never change in my basic idea that non-violence is the most potent weapon available to the Negro in his struggle for freedom and justice. I think for the Negro to turn to violence would be both impractical and immoral."

- Dr. Martin Luther King In an interview with Mike Wallace of CBS on September 27, 1966

^ Eh, what did HE know?  Looting and rioting is so much more productive in furthering racial equality.

Folks, don't get distracted. The media will push the looting and vandalism, riots etc to take the focus away from the real injustice! A human life was taken unjustly, something that can not be replaced. Who gives a **** about some materialistic goods that can be easily replaced? Don't let them distract you or any other ignorance in this thread trying to push the focus on "looting"!

You know exactly what I'm saying. You're focusing on **** that doesn't matter. Nobody in here loots. We know that **** is wrong so why discuss that. We should be talking about the real problem.

Exactly, and we are giving them what they want by acknowledging it and taking focus off the real crime, an injustice against humanity! Wake up folks, ignore the trolls!

The one good thing that could potentially come from looting, is that the business owners apply additional pressure on the police to do what's right. If they haven't joined the cause for justice already, maybe hitting them in the pocket book will force them to do so whether they want to or not. Probably wishful thinking though.

This has nothing to do with the media.  Anytime there is a shooting involving the police and a young black male, it's automatically ASSUMED that it was racially motivated before all of the facts are even ascertained because of people like you that make broad generalizations about the police in this country, who come from all different ethnic, cultural, racial and economic backgrounds.  Yet, you expect the police who work in crime ridden neighborhoods to remain completely objective and not let their own personal experiences have any influence on their actions?

At the end of the day, police officers are human too.  They're just as influenced by their own experiences within the community they're policing, the same way young black males may develop a distrust for police based on their personal interactions with them.  Stereotypes go both ways.  You add the two together, and you get a potentially volatile situation.  THAT is the problem.

Take a look at this interactive map showing all the various incidents that have occurred in that area from the time of Michael Brown's shooting to the present:

https://mapsengine.google.com/map/embed?mid=zQXCU9jTCWt8.k_AxWZwk4ODM

I'm all for peaceful protests and demonstrations to get a point across - the stuff that's been occurring as listed in the above link actually does more  harm than good for the community and only make a bad situation worse.

just a page ago he was talking about it on his own...

y'all being real funny right now acting like we're not talking about related topics

you mentioned it without even quoting anyone...

lol.. but let's tell everyone ELSE to not mention it

ok...
Yeah I mentioned because people seem incapable of understanding the obvious. Folks were talking about this **** pages ago, I didn't bring it up.

that seems so counter-productive....

let's take money away from people that didn't have anything to do with it ... people from the neighborhood ... some of the same people you're fighting FOR
