George W. Bush and Obama, meanwhile, are 10th cousins once removed - linked through a 17th century Massachusetts couple, Samuel Hinckley and Sarah Soole.
This means something if you want it to. They're about as related as you might be to a Fortune 500 ceo whose ancestor slept with a native american or a slave.
