currently just started working out and running again(took 4 yearsoff) and have been doing alot of running(everyday for about 2 miles, give or take). I have been wearing my new air max 90's infrareds.
my question is the top of my left foot where it bends has been sore. pretty much since i started, not to bad like i can run through it and deal with it. but im wondering if its cause of the shoes?
i know running hasnt changed since 1990, but technology has, so am i wearing the wrong shoe? I have a pair of 2010 trainers, do you guys think those would help? or should i just buy a pair of full air max's or smthg? any help would be appricated.
thanks guys!

I never really liked nikes when it came to running. And that statement is based on PERSONAL experience. But i just saw some today that I really like at the Nike Running store.

if you are really serious you should go to a nike running store or any running store for that matter and they will tell you exactly what to get based on the way you walk and the arch on your foot. Whats your budget?

I used mostly asics and you cant go wrong with those. They lasted me 5 months with me running 80 miles a week for 6 years

You're running in Infrared AM90's? -_____-

*makes sign of the cross* lord help me.

If you want Nike, and don't need extra support in the arch, go for Lunarglides, Pegasus, Vomero or Air Max 2010's. They're all good. I personally love my Lunarglides, wouldn't pick any other runner over them

yeah im totally flatfooted, and my budget is unlimited. werent the 90's made for running?

anyone know whats wrong with my foot? top where it bends is sore, usually only when running or when it bends, if not bent its has no pain, seems like if i dont run its gone in a day or so.

so yeah i got a !*%$@%%# of shoes here, but they are like cross trainers and jordans or 90's. so i dunno

yeah in 1990, probably with better air support than in the current retros i.e. forefoot airbag...

go with some new tech...lunar, am2009/2010, etc....check your local niketown or factory store, you can find some for cheap.

It's two miles though. He's not running a marathon. It may just be a stretching issue and or muscles getting sore from not being used for years.

Take some days off, get some rest. Ice. and see if THEN it may be a shoe issue.

BTW, the vast majority of Nikes are geared to the general population, which are Neutral based, or high arched people. You may need to be A/selective in your choice of shoes and go for stability/support shoes, or B/ look into some orthotic insoles to appear to Generic shoes to give you that boost.

Do AM90s still come with the arch inserts??

wally where can i go that the people wont just b.s. me to make a sale. i need to talk to ppl, that know whats up, that kinda scares me.

90 do NOT come with the arch supports, but if you pull the insole out, it kinda has a arch on it. so maybe they built them into the insole? i have some old ones from an older pair of 90's.

it could be astretching issue, like i said i have really ever ran, and im starting slow, my max might be 3-4 miles in a few months, i need to loose like 35 lbs, that i put on from med's.

but yeah im gonna try to stretch really well befor running from now on, and im goin to ice it now.
its weird tho, it doesnt hurt unless i bend it or run, normal walking doesnt hurt it.
thx

so basically the 90's are DEFINALTY a bad idea then?

90's arent good to run in. i say go with some lunars, new balances, or asics

I've been running in asics gel kayano 16s, and their great both support wise and with cushioning. I also have lunarglides which are extremely lightweight and the lunar foam is like running on a cloud. I would recommend either. The asics gel nimbus 12 is a great shoe from what i've heard from alot of sources.
