Question about running shoes.

I've been running in asics gel kayano 16s, and their great both support wise and with cushioning. I also have lunarglides which are extremely lightweight and the lunar foam is like running on a cloud. I would recommend either. The asics gel nimbus 12 is a great shoe from what i've heard from alot of sources.

Asics Gel Kinsei or the Mizuno Wave Creation. Try them on in the stores.

Don't even mess with Nike for running, man. Check out Asics, New Balance or something else.

I recommend Asics personally, as I use them for my running and have treated me well for more than roughly 300 miles now.

-Go to your local running store
-Have them measure you up, didn't realize I had a wide foot for quite a while now.
-They'll measure your arch, and whether or not your pronated?
-They should give you 2-3 choices that should work perfectly with your foot.

Yeah, a good specialty store will be able to analyze your foot and walking style before making a suggestion. I know of one in LA called Top to Top that will even go as far as letting customers return WORN shoes if any pain persists.

if you're in socal, hit up snails pace and they'll help you out with what's right for your feet.

It comes down to what you're comfortable in and what feels best on your feet. Don't let them push you into one particular style. If they're a good sales person, they'll be more than happy to get a few pairs out for you to try.

If you don't like it, say so. Make sure you're getting one for your needs, the likes of the Free Run are not for massive runs, in fact they centre on building up the muscles in your feet and they will hurt a little when you first wear them, but down the line that muscle build up will help to prevent injuries. Every model of shoe is designed with specific characteristics in mind.

Sales people should be pointing out what's good with specific models and you need to provide them with the correct information on what you're doing to ensure they recommend you the correct models to try.

I ran a 5k on satuday in my nike Free 7.0's.

I love nike free and the whole line. I hear good things about lunarglides though.

If you want to stick with the Nike line, try out the Vomero 5's. Been running in Vomeros since the 2's and have not turned back. The Vomero line is leaps and bounds better than any other shoe that Nike makes, for me. The cushioning is perfect, and it's nice that the forefoot also has some cushlon. A lot of the other shoes do not have forefoot cushioning, which I actually like.

The Nike Free Runs are real comfortable, but I don't know about running long distances with them. For your 2 mile runs, you should be fine with them too.

All in all, like everyone said, see if you can find a running store and head out and get fitted. They'll tell you what kinda shoe you should get based off your gait.
