What he said. I believe if you're in good standing with the people importing the goods to you. If you can get them to mark the value of the parcel under$150 they typically won't open it up and check it out. Works like a charm for restricted goods.

Wow, I didn't know that they open up your packages.

I shipped some shoes out the U.S. for the first time this week and the buyer asked me to mark them as a gift valued under $20.

I guess I'll ask the seller I'm dealing with to do the same thing.
