Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Man...Jay knows what he's doing

The fact that we're even talking about this is incredible. We've seen the SAME exact words on Black Twitter and everywhere else 4390890834 times this year alone. Jay-Z says it...and time stops

*****s everywhere went :wow: as if he had just dropped some science or some ****.

But it goes to show how us and his peers view him. He's damn near like the Keyser Soze of rap. I laughed when you *****s tried to fake like "Jay don't have no influence down south" when he dropped the money phone line...and then some of the MAIN influencers from down South felt the need to respond publicly. Whatever he says, we react immediately.

Jay usually speaks facts though. Always thought flexing money stacks was corny. We're in 2018, with credit card rewards and Apple pay and dudes still hold piles of money in their album cover trying to look cool.

YO! My man boosie was saying some ignorant **** in that video :smh:

“We don’t have bank accounts or know about investment” “this our culture this what we do”

He had y’all NO cats looking dumb as hell.

Baton Rouge is the boot.

New Orleans don't really claim BR (almost a two hour drive from each other).

For audiophiles, what pair of cans/over the ear headphones do you use?

In the market for a purchase soon. Want to go with Superlux but open to any recommendations.

Jay must have listened to Tariq Nasheed’s podcast on xxxtentacion the other week. Tariq basically said everything Jay- Z rapped

Jay influence really not that crazy in the south tho tbh, what Boosie was saying is mostly correct. _’s got respect for him as far as being a boss etc but that’s kinda it. Maybe for the older dudes.

Future, Boosie etc are like the OG/“bosses” that are looked up to and mimicked in certain ways by the current gen of the south so i think they specifically felt a certain way about it

Down South Pac

These verses go up with anyone. Boy was talking on there :emoji_speaking_head::emoji_speaking_head::emoji_speaking_head:
This was the joint that really made me a Boosie fan. A Baltimore _ I know would bump Boosie all the time and I was just like "He aight"

Then I heard Mind Of A Maniac

Jay influences hiphop culture point blank period, i'm sure there's pockets of teens & young dudes who don't care what he says, but again dudes continue to act as if one demo of the youth isn't in tune with it then that's the majority.

As far as the line goes I get it but also it's not that simple. These dudes do these senseless murders & robberies because there ignorant & stuck in a lifestyle their "soldiers" basically, they DGAF about a Zimmerman when they thinking like that. On the flip side if they were thinking on a level where they would rather target Cats like Zimmerman, Crooked cops etc etc...... then it would never happen because more than likely those people aren't going to be ignorant anymore & value their lives.

The day The streets figure out how to turn that misguided ignorance & die for anything mentality into well focused & die for a cause energy, this country will implode. Hence why they got the BP's the **** outta here quick!

thats the beauty and science behind rap.

my boy and his pops said the exact same **** when the news broke but they had the :wow: face when they heard the line too lol. i guess it feels good to have someone at hov level co sign or relate to a sentiment u have.

Man...I heard 21 Savage pretty much say the exact opposite when he spoke about it  As a matter of fact I think he referred to Jay as a god.
