Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

That comment section even worse and is a definite reflection of millennials :smh:. S**** social media as a WHOLE is reflected in that photo and the comments.

NYC is a joke in terms of current day rap though

The "popping" NYC artist are literally hybrid versions of everything popular right now.

Imagine being influenced by mediocre **** from all over and in turn making new hybrid mediocre ****

Absolutely zero superstar talent from the city (RIP Pop Smoke) and hasn't been for 10+ years.

Rappers from NYC WISH they had a movement like GxFR

They WISH they had a rapper like Benny from the five boroughs

You can tell GxFR WANT to be legendary

From the quality of projects, merchandise, consistency, fashion, authenticity, etc.

Them dudes legit care about the “culture” and refuse to compromise

They live that rapping **** and if people don’t **** with it they can care less

But it's no longer any respect for the craft or being the "nicest" in the five boroughs

All these ****** want to do is gang bang, buy designer clothes, and diss each other on axl beats which results in getting locked up or killed

Rinse, wash, and repeat

The NYC kids were clearly influenced by everywhere due to the boom of the internet era and the south in particular owning the mainstream market the last 10+ years

But them grown *** men from Buffalo were influenced by the golden era of NYC rap and never wavered

As a 28 y/o male them Buffalo ****** are more akin the NYC I remember as a kid than what it is now.
