Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

That's why I don't think he's pocket watching. He's somebody that's been there and that figured out the game and he's straight. He's just adding It up. It cost this much to fly private and you doing it how many times a week, you got how many watches that cost a house, the math don't add up.

It don’t add up at all. But they was saying the same thing then too. Shoot, that’s the whole premise for Redman not doing what MTV wanted him to do, and showing his actual crib. Which actually is a decent home for a guy at his stage, looking back as an adult now. Renovate that townhouse, and that’s a nice crib.

Rapper Nas is expected to be one of the richest Black people in the world, in just a coupe of hours.

Nas, real name Nasir Jones, has stealthy become one of the most prolific investors in the world. And his early investment in Coinbase, the cryptocurrency exchange expected to reach over $100 billion in valuation when its COIN stock lists on Wednesday, will push him into billionaire status.

Nas’ investment firm, QueensBridge Venture Partners, got into Coinbase’s Series B round back in 2013 when it raised $25 million. Around that time Coinbase was valued at $143 million, according to PitchBook.

When the company goes public, Nas’ investment is expected to be valued at as much as $750 million. Given Nas previous investments, MTO News learned that Nas will likely be a billionaire after the IPO.

Nas’ investment firm has been an early stage investor in some of the biggest companies in the world, including Robinhood in 2013, Ring, Lyft and Dropbox.

They tried to clown my dawg...

they loved when he was down bad....

The definition of pocket watching is simple, if you asking and wondering you are pocket watching.

Meth a legend but that's what it is

Pocket watching is telling someone or caring about how others spend their money or caring about their money

So is this considered pocket watching.....

Here you gooooooo

I’m praising Nas for doing his thing financially, that’s called PRAISE.

Pocket watching is being concerned with how some spends, or makes their money, in a snide facetious way. Pretty much saying “they don’t deserve that money. They don’t deserve those items. Why do the have them, and not me?? That’s no fair!”

I have never said no one deserves the money or possessions they have.

Meth practically saying those dudes don’t deserve what they have, because he doesn’t have it or flaunt it like them.

Meth literally took the time out of his day/interview to go on a whole spiel about the money that other rappers have. He could’ve said hey, that’s none of my business. Let them do their thing. Instead, he wanted to probe for answers

It's legit in the term
Meth just took the safe route and ain't say no names

If yo co-worker pull up on you tomorrow in a Porsche and you start asking how that's possible and comparing what y'all pulling in, that is pocket watching

I think you need to watch the whole part and not a partial clip. It will give you more background in to what he's saying.

When did he say that

Why is he concerned about what they have in the first place? He’s seen millions already. Why is he worried about these young cats getting money?

He didn’t have to say that specifically but again, why does it matter to him so much? He’s got his own money? Why won’t he DM or ask one of these dudes how they getting money?

Meth ain't really co-workers with these new rappers though. He's passed rap money.

Meth probably got more money than a lot of these money phone dudes. Wu Tang can perform anywhere on the planet and Meth is getting the biggest bag. People can't have conversations without it being hate. :{ :lol

and why do you care about Nas?

really? I didn’t post that Nas article. Someone else did :lol :lol :lol I don’t fishing around on social media saying “how is such and such making money”.

You act like I posted that Nas article:lol :lol :lol :lol giving him positive praise for making wise investments?

You must not quite understand the science of pocket watching. Pocket watching means you’re negatively worried about someones money. I never once spoke negative of Nas.

I don’t even know why I’m arguing with you

People can't have conversations without it being hate. :smh:
Mans having a recorded convo for entertainment purposes and folks asking why he talking about it? Why anyone talk about anything? Seriously though. Cant even shoot the **** without being accused of some negative ****. And the people accusing will be the first ones to say society dont know how to communicate anymore, everyone on social media blahblahblah.

Which is the point. Meth has plentyyyyyy money. He’s lived a full life. Why can’t these young dudes enjoy their money? Like dang. Let them cook.

So if you're watching peoples pockets positively it's not pocket watching
