It’s typical with people who have multiple heritages.

Code switching pretty much a given if you’re in an area with a clearly defined dialect (eg NYC), but your family speaks a different language or has a different dialect when you’re inside your home.

Aren’t you from the Carolinas? I know them Gullah/Geechie ppl got their own ****. The Diaspora got hella different languages and inter languages etc.

It’s no different than a British dude speaking UK English, then Jamaican patois when they at home or around they ppls. Or Kodak and them Zoe’s down in Florida switching it up.

Same ****. Very common for African diaspora cultures to make their own **** up, and remix the colonizers language to their own, while still being able to speak it.

Yeah and I’ve never heard a Geechee ***** go from speaking Geechee to sounding like an Atlanta or Memphis *****

As mentioned before its called code switching. He's not going to address his country men with a NY accent. And vice versa. Hell even you who are born here may have a slightly different dialect when addressing your friends vs when you talk to your mother. People code switch even in the work place too. The only thing that may happen is your accent may leak out at times when saying certain words/phrases.
