The main issue is these guys not wanting to pay for actual producers or the ones who help create their sound. Outside of getting locked up it's why T.I.'s music/career declined.

It gotta be. My father in law, 70 year old man, came and visited this past weekend. We choppin it up bout every thing, just catching up, and he goes “man you heard that new T.I. song? That thang is jammin!” Idk what Tip did but that track got the elders in a vice grip.

Always felt that way even when she blew up and everybody gassed up her Monster verse to the heavens.
She's just a forebearer in a similar way Soulja Boy was a pioneer when it comes to blowing up online outside of traditional media. She's one of the first rappers to really embrace and exploit that whole weird parasocial fan/stan relationship phenomenon into her whole thing. She became really big based 80% on being an 'influencer' and 20% her actual music.
The funniest about that is that she couldn't give less ****s about those type of fans that got her there now that she's on her MAGA journey

Her label had a rocket and battery strapped to her back and basically stalled out a lot of other women during her run. They basically had to throw in random women into award categories while she was winning all those years just cause they put so much stock in her and paid attention to no one else. It’s no coincidence that “Shether” and Cardi B’s raise aided in multiple women been seen on a large scale after that. She hated the media not being solely focused on her.
